Perfect Peace
“Great peace have they which love thy law: And nothing shall offend them.” Psalm 119:165 KJV
It is true that offences and peace are words and opposite. And if the scriptures say that offences are inevitable, how then can anyone ever experience genuine and great peace? While some people would readily prefer to buy the easy last prayer ‘Rest in Peace’ as consolation, it is important to know that the experience of the rich man in Jesus Christ’s real life story of Lazarus and the rich man proved that this easy last prayer is fake and unscriptural. Anyone who cannot attain perfect peace before death has lost it forever. Unfortunately, many believers struggle consistently with the true experience of peace at home, workplaces and in our toxic society today because they choose to elevate the words and pronouncements of elements in their world to the level of scriptural revelation or even above the words of God. When Jesus said “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28)”, He met perfect peace actually comes by coming and trusting in His promised rest. That was why He followed up by saying “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls (Matthew 11:29)”. Therefore, great and perfect peace is the prerogative of those who rest solely on revelations from daily meditation in the words of God, no provocation from anyone else can safely invalidate the potency of this peace.
