Unrestrained Mediation

Bloomberg reports today that Kofi Annan said Kenya needs a new constitution, together with electoral, police, and judicial reforms, within the next 18 months. Prior to the former United Nations leader's effort that led to negotiating an end to the political violence in the East African country last year, many other attempts of mediation between the two warring Kenyan leaders failed. It was obvious that a biased conflict resolution strategy cannot produce a settled mediation. Since the fall of man, mediating between God and man has taken many twist of efforts; and God is still looking for a mediating effort (an intercessory prayer of faith) from an unrestrained mediator. Hands lifted up, but bowed down by restrained hearts, cannot stand before the throne of grace. Believers are admonished to lift up holy hands for all men - hands unrestrained by bitterness, fear of losing control, and covetousness.
