Faith Foundation

“ For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels .” Luke 9 : 26 KJV Fellowship and follower-ship of the Lord Jesus Christ is built on the incorruptible word of God. And when the Lord walks His children through the wilderness of life, He is always deliberate on the provision of a platform for believers’ building of solid foundation…for if the foundation be destroyed, the righteous becomes helpless. For example, the Israelites’ 40-years wilderness experience was intended for the building of strength, solidity, and soundness in their understanding of the purpose and plan of God, besides the side wielding off of unbelievers from the inheritors of the promised land. Unfortunately, many of God’s children often get distracted from their focus on building the faith foundation, by paying attention to the words of carnal men in the wilderness. The moment God spe...

Self Sacrifice

“ But He said to them, “You give them something to eat.” And they said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we go and buy food for all these people. ”” Luke 9 : 13 NKJV Anyone in an oppressive relationship, strained marriage, and a depressed project environment can relate with the mindsets of the disciples and the challenges of feeding the multitude in the wilderness. But then, Jesus said to them “ You give them something to eat .” It was the feeling of getting spent, wasted, and about getting tossed…’ when the day began to wear away’ , yet the system is asking for more self sacrifice. They said, “ We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we go and buy food for all these people ”; and we probably would do no better, with credit cards, loans, and promissory notes. From the benefit of hindsight, we know that with Jesus, the disciples’ self sacrifice of the five loaves and two fish was sufficient for the surplus supply to feed the over five thousan...

Perfect Possession

” Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me .“ ‭‭Luke‬ ‭9‬:‭23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Another Easter weekend is approaching, especially with an exciting Retreat opportunity to reflect on believers’ perfect possession. Notwithstanding, the desire to follow Jesus does not rule out the desires for perfect jobs, perfect homes, perfect careers, perfect positions, perfect living standards, etc. Even at the Retreat ground, perfectionists are likely to be distracted by their obsession for a change in their status and conditions of living, instead of focussing on the sufficiency of Christ. Whereas, Jesus is every believer’s perfect possession. That’s why He told and still telling His disciples “ If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me ”. Focussing on the sufficiency of Jesus means all other insufficiency in believer’s life, home, career, position, and living...
