Sound Strength

“ Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength. By me kings reign, And princes decree justice .” Proverbs 8 : 14 - 15 KJV Knowledge is power. And since its advances in these last days are phenomenal, everyone can feel the power, prowess, and preponderance of human schemes, intelligence, and creativity. Unfortunately the difference between wisdom and knowledge is always clear. While the revelation of knowledge is horizontal, the unveiling of wisdom is vertical. Crudely, it is permissible to say that while knowledge provides simple strength, wisdom gives sound strength. Yes, simple strength comes from the place of figures and numbers. That’s why those who pride in their material intelligence, political sagacity, and social networking are limited by the best of what their brains can proffer, including the manifestation of wickedness, envy, and bitterness. Whereas, sound strength comes from the Creator of heaven and the earth. At the limits, leaps and bond...

Winning Wisdom

“ Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom; I am understanding, I have strength. By me kings reign, And rulers decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, All the judges of the earth .” Proverbs 8 : 14 - 16 NKJV Injustices in the world’s justice system are inherited from its wobbling wisdom. That’s why only a case with either the ability to produce evidence or the ingenuity to suppress evidence wins. Fortunately, this wobbling wisdom falls like a pack of cards before the winning wisdom from the Lord for those who truly have faith in God. While the wobbling wisdom thrives on horizontal knowledge from human intelligence gathering, the winning wisdom depends on vertical knowledge or divine revelation. Little wonder the scriptural digest for today says “ Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom; I am understanding, I have strength “. Whenever God is sincerely allowed to step into the affairs of His beloved, injustices are dealt with decisively through His gracious manoeuvring of kings, rule...

Wealthy Wisdom

”I love those who love me, And those who seek me diligently will find me. That I may cause those who love me to inherit wealth, That I may fill their treasuries.“ Proverbs‬ ‭8‬:‭17‬, ‭21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Considering the fact that wisdom is personified here, it is easy to ask the question ‘Is wisdom God?’. Wisdom comes from God and not God. Notwithstanding, true wisdom does not generate wealth; but rather, it inherits wealth. While worldly wisdom prides itself in the generation of wealth through the use of material knowledge and human networking, this true and wealthy wisdom prides itself in spiritual knowledge, divine inspiration and discretion. Above the privileges endowed by our academic, political, and professional pursuits, it is expedient for every man with interest in the unliquidated wealth to desire superior and intimate relationship with God. Rather than pursuing wealth, which always comes with the undeniable invitation to wickedness, sin, and all forms of unrighteousness, the...

Respectful Riches

“ Riches and honor are with me, Enduring riches and righteousness .” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭8‬:‭18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Without prejudice to wealth accumulated from trading activities on the stock markets, the riches generated through the application of travailing activities have more honour attached. While the stock-driven riches can indulge in the activities of unknown individuals who are possibly engaged in questionable practices, self-engaged riches invite the use of personal wisdom, diligence and discretion. Notwithstanding the chosen path among the list of options available, the psalmist presents the fundamental use of the wisdom of God in the pursuit of respectful riches. This is the principle that emphasizes the absolute dependence on the fear of God and the pursuit of His divine counsel in project executions and all of life’s engagements. Sometimes, those who toe the path of righteousness in the pursuit of riches do not often get quick and flashy rewards from fellow men; but they are definite...
