Steadfast faith and confidence in God make the people of God see mountains and the challenges of life always as moveable before the immovable God. Unfortunately, when we see ourselves surrounded by mountains and not discern the presence of the immovable God, we take the faithless, faulty, and fraudulent moves from pillar to pole. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah ” Psalms 46 : 1 - 2 , 11 NKJV It is not news that refuge and trouble are words and opposite. Likewise, reliable refuge is authenticated by traumatized trouble. And when the psalmist painted the scenario when the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea, he probably envisaged the experience of Jonah when he was thrown into the troubled sea or possibly over-sighted the experience of the disciples when they cried “ Master, carest not that we perished? ” in the troubled sea. Life’s choices on family planning, career choices, business decisions, and residency at the impulse of weather, security, social, political and economic threats are just few of the many miserable motions. But whenever believers truly understand the scriptural revelation and assurance that ” God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved “, they cease to engage in miserable motions. Conversely, the birthrights of the enemies of God’s people is simply the engagement in miserable motions to generate these threats. ...

Unfortunately, every relief package from the enemy is like a Greek gift with the intention of making believers lose their faith in God. But the psalmist reminds believers the characteristic of a reliable refuge: Unlike a place we need to run to occasionally, ‘God (the believers’ refuge) is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved’. The avalanche of troubles in life often present man with the consideration of focussing on self; while heaven is mostly concern about the glory of God. Man is always a spectator in the battle of supremacy on earth, if man is safely connected to heaven by the free stream of God's grace. Since God offers believers with both the defensive and offensive strength, there is always no cause for alarm. Unfortunately, man's reactionary reflexes exhibit the innate proud nature, pushing self into the uninvited battle ring. When God says " Be Still ", He meant " Watch me fight for both you and my glory ".‎
