Consistent Cleanliness

“Behold, on the mountains The feet of him who brings good tidings, Who proclaims peace! O Judah, keep your appointed feasts, Perform your vows. For the wicked one shall no more pass through you; He is utterly cut off.” ‭‭Nahum‬ ‭1:15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/nam.1.15.nkjv The pride of the wicked is always his prosperity, while the problem of the righteous remains a disregard for the sense of poverty of Spirit. Meanwhile, the God of both the righteous and the wicked is often more concerned about the character than the circumstances of His people. For example, the wicked Nineveh cannot abuse the mercy of God without attracting His Judgment; while the righteous Judah cannot abuse the grace of God without facing the same judgment with the wicked. Unperturbed Fellowship

"Behold, on the mountains The feet of him who brings good tidings, Who proclaims peace! O Judah, keep your appointed feasts, Perform your vows. For the wicked one shall no more pass through you; He is utterly cut off". (Nahum 1:15 NKJV) Bearing of good tidings and the proclamation of the message of peace is easy in times of affluence and relative wellness. Unfortunately, the path of peace in times of trouble and great aggression is thin; only an uncommon trust in the God of peace can stay the heart on His promises. Although Judah appeared to have undergone great affliction in the hand of Nineveh, they are encouraged to stay their trust in the message of peace and not in the memory of persecution. The frustration of the wicked is more fierce with an unperturbed fellowship of the righteous and his God, even in the height of great wickedness.

Righteous' Burden

"The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him". (Nahum 1:7 NKJV) Unintentionally, the dignity conferred on the challenges of life often threaten the devotion offered to God. Although financial stress, among other types of stresses, can disorganize man's state of mind, repositioning confidence in every alternative source of financial wealth is not a profitable substitute to God's promises. Even when divine assistance appear significantly delayed, our trust in God can be sufficiently sustained. Sincerely, the righteous' burden is not the capacity of his problem, but the retention of the knowledge of God's capability.
