Precious Pearl

“ Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it .” Matthew 13 : 45 - 46 KJV Life is definitely a puzzle filled with pearls; and without purpose, priorities on the pursuit of these pearls are readily misappropriated. And since Jesus compared the kingdom of heaven to the pursuit of one pearl of great price, it implies that without a guided focus on the kingdom of heaven, earthly agenda and its deceitfulness can easily rob anyone of the required dedication on the pursuit of the pearl of great price or heaven. Inspired by the character Joseph in the Old Testament, Joseph’s relationship with God was his pearl of great price. And for this, he traded fleshly pleasure with Potiphar’s wife, rightly deemed as great wickedness against God. Little wonder, he could relate with earthly circumstances and challenges without losing his precious pearl or the abiding pr...

Right Raise

“ Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear !” Matthew 13 : 43 NKJV Despite the fact that very few in our workplaces and public institutions are selected for promotions and performance merit awards, everyone engaged in any form of commitment in life expects a raise. Unfortunately, people can do all kinds of despicable things to attract undeserved raises or treats. Actually, the system of exchanging raise for treat is the genesis of misappropriation of social trust, mismanagement of public property and underdevelopment in any institution or state. However, those whose ears can hear will accept the message of Jesus about the right raises in life, which is righteousness in the heart. When Joseph responded to the suggested ‘raise and treat ’ proposal in Potiphar’s house with ‘How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God’ , he simply chose righteousness to reserve the presence of God within hi...

Tare-less Treasure

” Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. “ Matthew‬ ‭13‬:‭44‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ The adage ‘the root of wealth is corrupt or all evil ’ simply agrees with the scripture that says ‘the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil’ . It implies that there are tares in the treasure called money, riches, promotion, and prosperity to which believers must be wary of establishing relationships with. These treasures are simply currencies that must remain under our control; and never should they be allowed to control us. Unfortunately, there is a spirit that is resident in all worldly treasures that no carnal man can stand against, unless the man sincerely finds the tare-less treasure in Christ; and he completely surrenders to His lordship. In Christ’s parable of the tare-less treasure, He provides the evidence of every believer’s genuine relationship with the riches of s...
