Omni- Obedience

“ For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled .” II Corinthians 10 : 4 - 6 NKJV There is no better reference to the scriptural punishment of all disobedience when our obedience is fulfilled than omni- obedience. In Apostle Paul’s correction of the Corinthian believers who wrestle authority with him, he admonished believers to focus on the omnipotence of absolute submission to the authority of Christ through our individual fellowship with God. Unfortunately, those who are often frustrated by the strongholds of disobedience, dishonesty, and disloyalty of fellowmen, subordinates, and associates are usually struggling with the calls for absolute submission to Christ. Is He calling our attention to som...

Winsome Warfare

“ For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ ” II Corinthians 10 : 3 - 5 NKJV Like the great Welsh preacher, Dr. Martin Lloyd-Jones, once said “ There is no grosser or greater misrepresentation of the Christian message than that which depicts it as offering a life of ease with no battle and struggle at all…sooner or later every believer discovers that the Christian life is a battleground, not a playground ”. To engage in a playground strategy is to play with spiritual warfare, major in physical and diplomatic settlement of disputes, disagreements, and displeasure, and to exploit the protection offered by legal, administrative, and regulatory instruments whenever the diplomatic approaches fail. And whil...

Gracious Glory

“But “he who glories, let him glory in the Lord.” For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends.” ‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭10:17-18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ In the pursuit of excellence and distinction in life, there is always a place for the promotion of self respect, commendation, and confidence. Either stylishly or overtly, people say ‘if you don’t know how to blow your trumpet, no one will blow it for you’ . But the scriptures say ‘he who glories, let him glory in the Lord ’. The question is ‘what is the limit of self glory, with reference to God’s commendation?’ . Apostle Paul apparently had the same challenge, in defence of his authority before those who treated him with disrespect. The bottom line is our carefulness to ensure we only aim at referencing what God has done through us. We should keep silence with everything outside this frame of reference. Invariably, the gracious glory is the believers’ reference only to the Lord’s manifestations in their lives and affair...

Approved Assignment

“But “he who glories, let him glory in the LORD.” For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends.” ‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭ 10:17-18 ‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/114/2co.10.17-18.nkjv Managing disapproval and disappointment with a self-discovery of areas begging for improvement in personal, social and work life is easy. In fact, assessment and reward systems are designed to promote excellence through an honest dispense of the season of disapproval and disappointment. Unfortunately, it is always difficult for many to cope with acclaimed dishonesty in the world’s reward system when the mind is set to provide self-commendation. After Apostle Paul had humbly and successfully presented his resume in support of his authority and against the report of disapproval from some brethren, he ended his exhortation with “ But “he who glories, let him glory in the LORD ””. It implies that, even after all said have been excellently executed, the righteous are called to comm...
