Right Riches

“ The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: But destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. The righteous shall never be removed: But the wicked shall not inhabit the earth .” Proverbs 10 : 29 - 30 KJV It is not a surprise that the affluent, influential, politicians, and the prosperous people on earth are considered the lords because of their material strength. What is always strange in our world, and not just a surprise, is the scriptural revelation “ The way of the LORD is strength to the upright” . Even in Christian circles, ‘The way of the LORD ’ versus ‘The way of the lords’ is not a straightforward call. When riches are measured by the metrics of physical prosperity, political prowess, and financial freedom, people will be readily swayed on the path of unrighteousness, evil, and wickedness to attain these metrics. The way of the lords pride itself in the ability to achieve the metrics of worldly riches, especially by undermining all acts of righteousness and t...

Sure Slide

“ The way of the Lord is strength for the upright, But destruction will come to the workers of iniquity. The righteous will never be removed, But the wicked will not inhabit the earth .” Proverbs 10 : 29 - 30 NKJV Even after more than 3 centuries have passed since the sure slide of God's sermon on ‘Sinners in the hands of an angry God’ was delivered by Jonathan Edwards, the sureness of the wrath and severity of our loving but holy God on the wicked cannot be more apt. Unfortunately, believers and so-called followers of the cross that atoned sin by the redemptive blood of our sure Savior often live as though the sure slide is an empty threat. Yet, if the thief at the right side of the cross can see the sure slide at the eleventh of his life and accepted the sure Saviour to earn “ Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise ( Luke 23 : 43 )”, why would anyone plunge carelessly on the sure slide of God? But like the way-faring pilgrims with the sure Saviour, m...

Right Relationships

” To do evil is like sport to a fool, But a man of understanding has wisdom. The righteous will never be removed, But the wicked will not inhabit the earth. “ Proverbs 10:23, 30 NKJV Righteousness is not the same as self-righteousness, but right relationships without an aorta of reproach. Even Moses, adjudged by the Almighty as the meekest of all men, once failed to believe God’s declaration on the possibility of a right relationship before the righteous God and a wicked man. Therefore, when the scriptures say “ The righteous will never be removed ”, a wise man with consistent grace against the wicked’s traps into unrighteousness is focussed. Even when he is unjustifiably removed before men, he only takes the responsibility of his right relationships personal. And from the unfortunate experience of Moses’s disobedience through ANGER or wrong relationship, believers can learn (1) Ask God for His understanding of the source of the people’s provocation, unbelief, and rejection; (2...

Right Relationships

“The lips of the righteous feed many, But fools die for lack of wisdom. The righteous will never be removed, But the wicked will not inhabit the earth.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭10‬:‭21‬, ‭30‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Finding the right relationship may seem like doing the right thing in one’s personal eyes; but it can readily be established that an acceptable right relationship is centered only on righteousness before God. Those who are driven by doing the right thing are easily frustrated by the diverse personal interests that rule homes, systems, and institutions. Whereas, pursuing a righteous relationship with God prevents the hearts from self-centredness, wickedness, and retaliation. If “ The lips of the righteous feed many ”, what will the hands of the righteous do to many other than accessing and providing their needs? Even when the righteous selfless acts are evil-spoken about, it is his righteous relationship with God that can ensure focus on the divine assignment. Unfortunately, many broken relation...
