Holy Hope
“ For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit .” Romans 15 : 4 , 13 NKJV While someone says hope is the little sister of the three theological virtues — the other two being love and faith, it does appear that it is more about a lifelong learning and grabbing of an endless hope from an hopeless end. From a casual reflection on the fundamentals of thermodynamics, love and faith can be best described as possessing the characteristics of state variables; while hope will pass for a process variable. And everyone knows the patience required to underpin and learn the changes and dynamics of process variables, compared to the instantaneous determination of state variables.
