Practicing Power

“ and, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. ” Acts 1 : 4 , 8 KJV The abiding presence of the Lord brought not just the peace from God; there is the benefit of a practicing power for everyone who waits in the presence of the Lord.  The limits of power from material riches, position of authority, and political privileges include the manipulation of other people’s will and opinions by the power of darkness. And those who absolutely depend on these naked powers have always overstepped their boundaries against the superiority and sovereignty of the Almighty God. Even David knew this danger in most of his dealings as a king, especially while struggling w...

Power Prosperity

“ But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. ”” Acts 1 : 8 NKJV The primary purpose for the pursuit of position in life is material prosperity. Whether political, social, or ministerial, position guarantees a privileged control and authority over the less-privileged within the subject area. On the other hand, Joab abused his privileged position with his manipulation of the people’s lives against the divine counsels of God. Therefore, “ But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you “ suggests that the opposite of the Holy Spirit is not evil spirit; it is simply the outburst of self rather than the withdrawal on ...

Waiting Witnesses

“ But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth .”” Acts 1 : 8 NKJV The job of waiters has always been tricky. Those who cannot exercise the waiting patience will readily exhibit the wasteful pride. Joab the son of Zeruiah in the Old Testament and Judas Iscariot in the New Testament are typical examples of wasteful waiters. Even while recording a mix of commendable waiting services with proudful servings, they got wasted before their scheduled podium for empowerment. Notwithstanding, the promised power of the Holy Spirit is for gracious waiters, who must be witnesses of their experiences with the Lord. There are enormous experiences in the believer's life and ministries that these waiters are usually privileged to share to the glory of God. And when we truly wait and God eventually empowers us, the nations are reached with the undiluted gospel of healin...
