Safe Settings

“ But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, And shall be quiet from fear of evil.” Proverbs 1 : 33 KJV The existence of evil and the activities of wickedness in almost all settings of life is the reality of human lifestyles. And the normal response to this reality is fear, anxiety, and a sense of insecurity. Even in the assembly of a believer's like-precious faith, faithful disposition is readily supervised by fearful display of caution. The enemies and agents of darkness now recruit ‘saints’ on dirty duties. Those who live by the social settings of social media, cable news networks, peer groupings, and associations are bound to express their unsafe dispositions with different kinds of vices, rather than the pursuit of vision. For example, unlike Isaac who stayed safe in Gerar amidst the citizens’ hostility to earn respect, Jacob had to steal the birthright of Esau to feel safe with his divinely ordained favour and prosperity to earn disrespect. The truth is that beli...

Right Relationship

“But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil .” Proverbs 1 : 33 NKJV Gone are those days when the television sets are treated as the devil’s box by some conservative Christians. But everyone can attest to the accrued benefit of securing a right relationship with God through the cutting off of channels to negative or wrong relationships. Today, these channels to the world of negative or wrong relationships are just at the tip of everyone’s fingers. Even the facial recognition of human presence can now serve our environment with inappropriate stuff, almost leading to the total imprisonment of our emotions and physical wellbeing. Notwithstanding, the fundamental escape route remains the maintenance of a right relationship with God. The devil is the architect of wrong relationships; and his primary purpose on earth is the instilling of negative fear that breeds separation from God, through sickness, death, and destruction. He is fond of ma...

Fruitful Fear

” Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of the Lord, They would have none of my counsel And despised my every rebuke. Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way, And be filled to the full with their own fancies .“ Proverbs‬ ‭1‬:‭29‬-‭31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ In defining FEAR (false evidence appearing real), someone said it is simply overestimating the danger while underestimating the ability to cope. Whereas, the scripture says this fruitless fear is simply the filling of life with personal fancies against the fear of the Lord. Fruitful fear is the fear of God and the beginning of wisdom. The flow of these personal fancies in life includes confidence in our own religion, ideology, habits, vocation, lifestyle, principle, etc, demanding good counseling sessions from the Lord. And whenever we overestimate any threat to any of these fancies, it is natural for anyone to respond with fruitless fear. But when we become open to the revelation of God’s majesty, love, holine...

Superior Security

“But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil.”” Proverbs‬ ‭1‬:‭33‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Security concerns are simply handled by excellent intelligent services. But, depending on the sources of the available intelligent services, there is always this fear of apprehension. It is normal for anyone, who has anticipated or embarked on good projects and initiatives in life, to live consistently with the fear of evil. While the world had reasonably taken care of this reality of fear with the provision of the likes of insurance policies (e.g., life, auto, professional, health insurances, etc), all of these human provisions haven’t taken the fear of evil away. However, God says “ whoever listens to me will dwell safely…without fear of evil! ”. That’s right, God gives His beloved the grace to live absolutely without the fear of evil. This is because both good and evil are within the sovereign power of God; and none of these agents can operate outside God’s good...

Simple Security

“For the turning away of the simple will slay them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them; But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil.”” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭1:32-33‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/pro.1.32-33.nkjv Material prosperity attracts a significant sense of security from almost all the challenges of life. After all, the scripture also says ' Money answers everything ' (Ecclesiastes 10:19). The only caveat is the understanding of the type or quality of security provided. The security that deadens the sensitivity of man to the instructions of the Spirit of God is fake and complicated. It is evident that material prosperity that is influenced by the fear of the Lord cannot lead its beneficiaries away from the presence of God. Therefore, much talks about the principles of success and prosperity that are driven by gains are unreliable. Real prosperity and success in life and ministry guarantee simple security when driven by godlin...
