Honest Honours
“Remove your way far from her, And do not go near the door of her house, Lest you give your honor to others, And your years to the cruel one;” Proverbs 5:8-9 NKJV When the scriptures say elsewhere that “ A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, Loving favor rather than silver and gold ” Proverbs 22:1), it implies that there is a difference between honest honours and a dishonest honour. Here, we can understand the admonition that dishonest honour don’t actually last and it is always a waste of personal dignity and respect at the end for those who are deceived therefrom. Even though honest honour can face strong discouragement and disappointment at the beginning, the end always shows the sacrifice is worth the efforts.
