Sweet Service

  “ Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy ” I Peter 4 : 12 - 13 NKJV Strange is always sweet in God’s economy; but it takes a daily supply of grace for anyone to ride along the flow. Using the spirit illustration of  the flow of healing waters to Ezekiel, the supply comes in incremental versions until “ Again he measured one thousand, and it was a river that I could not cross; for the water was too deep, water in which one must swim, a river that could not be crossed ( Ezekiel 47 : 5 )”. With the evidence of divine guidance through the passages in life, career, and ministry, it is always sweet to be brought through the waters of supposed sufferings and shame, as long as the glory of God is up for grab at the end of the flow. Adorable Adornment

  “ Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God .” I Peter 3 : 3 - 4 NKJV Beauty contests are judged on the basis of outward adornment. Even those who are naturally endowed with beauty are assessed by what people can see, given a strong backing for the promotion of cosmetics, fashion designs, and jewelry. Unfortunately, these admirable adornments fade away easily and often cannot stand the test of tough times, complex conspiracies and fraudulent fights. For example, when the chips are down in times of financial stress, emotional distress, security threats, and relational discomfort, beautiful faces with arranged hair, attractive jewelry, and beautiful apparel are readily disconfigured with long faces, harsh tones, and explosive fists.
