Play Prayer

“ And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; ” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭18:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬ If every praying time represents a request time, what happens when the heart feels no request? Isn’t this the reason why it is generally perceived that only the people with problems and the challenges of life go to prayer houses? That is, Work and play, so you don’t pray, right? Whereas, Jesus concluded His parable exhortations with “ men ought always to pray, and not to faint ”. It implies that men ought to make a lifestyle out of prayer, rather than going to God at the end of life’s crossroads. Those who often feel otherwise always get discouraged when it appears God doesn’t attend to their request-time visits. But, a play-prayer session is a time to come to God for a fun time with Him; and not necessarily for His solution to the challenges of life. Obviously, Jesus said, if the unrighteous Judge in our wicked world cannot ignore the act of importunity from a...

Healthy Hope

“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭18:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/1/luk.18.1.kjv Sustainable prayer life is not defined by the content of the asking; but on the consistency of the running. Unfortunately, whenever prayer is treated as a monologue session, it is bound to wear out its relevance with time. And in order to avoid fainting, callers must be interesting in deriving joy or fun in the privilege of running for fellowship, friendship, and faith. Even the unringhteous Judge in Jesus’ parsable could not withstand the widow’s continual running for her confidence in the Judge’s undeniable ability to respond to her plight. Her commendable action differentiated the attitude of healthy Hope from the altitude of unhealthy Hope. Faith in God makes the difference in life always. Even when it seems nothing is substantiated, faith keeps hope alive by its continual running, consistent planning, constant strategizin...

Persistent Prayer

“Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart...Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭18:1, 8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/114/luk.18.1,8.nkjv One of the reasons why man lose the appetite for a sustained prayer pattern is the conception that prayer is merely the medium for turning pain into pleasure. As soon as food, fame, and fortune are derived from the altar, faith in the altar of prayer becomes lost. Whereas, a persistent prayer is possible with both pain and pleasure where there is consistent faith. When Jesus recommended persistent prayer life, it is not primarily because of the need for dealing with our source of pain in life (like the unrighteous judge for the widow woman in His parable). Pain is often a mere catalyst for initiating a call to the prayer altar. A sustained fellowship between man and God is possible through faith. Whenever a man has developed faith to sustain a persist...
