Saviour’s Steps

“ A man's heart deviseth his way: But the LORD directeth his steps .” Proverbs 16 : 9 KJV One of the attributes of a self-made man is his ability to be in-charge, take control, and devise a solid strategy for great accomplishment. Wherever a master strategist is produced in any home, workplace, and societal setup, everyone within the system is known to dove his hat for the mastery of the strategist’s control and administration. Whereas, “ A man's heart deviseth his way: But the LORD directeth his steps ” brings an uncomfortable twist to the familiar setup. The recognition of the Saviour’s steps in life brings a great relief to whatever dynamic the sound strategies throws in any situation and circumstance. Unfortunately, those who are ignorant or cast aspersions on the relevance of the Saviour’s steps are always restless and frustrated with the management of the diversity and complexity of sound strategies open to them. For example, when a man’s heart deviseth his way, how ...

Purposeful Plans

“ A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps. ” Proverbs 16 : 9 NKJV Every purpose has a clearly defined plan, but not every plan has a clear purpose. Human plans can readily boost of being backed by purpose and focus; but in reality, our plans are subject to myriad factors behind the control of mortal men. Even the greatest of monarchs, like Pharaoh, the wisest of sages, like Solomon, and the mightiest of emperors, like Nebuchadnezzar, have got their plans easily twisted by the irrefutable counsel of God. So, when the scriptures say “ A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps” , it implies that the best of human plans are purposeless outside the divine purpose. Unfortunately, some proud men will deliberately fight or resist the purpose of God as though it is offensively in the way of their plan to better life, better marriage, better business, better ministry, better friendship, etc. Whereas, whenever any human plan is completely surrendered...

Perfect Purposes

“A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ While the superiority of God’s plans and purposes over human plots cannot be overemphasized, the heart of man is still responsible for establishing plans against the seeming negative plots against its progress and advancement. Since life is equipped with resources (human, materials, system networks, etc) for planning, it is natural for the heart to boast of good plans with the sophistication of his available resources. Notwithstanding, “ A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps ” suggests that human plans and plots are not perfect. They are always within the guidance and direction of God’s perfect plans and purposes. Unfortunately, man often fights against the disposition of his proposed plans and purposes, until his shame and disappointment are uncovered. Whereas, no matter how hard we try with our human might and strength, no one can unseat the perfect plans and purpos...

Established Enlargement

“It is an abomination for kings to commit wickedness, For a throne is established by righteousness.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/pro.16.12.nkjv If Rehoboam, the son of the writer of this proverb, had kept the word of wisdom, his throne would have been established. But sincerely, it naturally appears that respects in governance is easy with tight-fist and stern dispositions, where people in position of authority rule with high-handedness. Notwithstanding, a change in the orientation to unruly behaviour, in the family, any organization and the society at large, requires discipline and consistent enforcement of standards, in order to build a respectable institution. However, an unfriendly disposition in leadership, outside the motive towards fighting corruption and indiscipline, is called wickedness - a serious abomination in the sight of God. Although some sort of compliance may be temporarily achieved by any form of unpopular enforcement, it is always unable to b...
