  “ All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. ” II Timothy 3 : 16 - 17 NKJV When the psalmist says elsewhere that “ It is good for me that I have been afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes ( Psalms 119 : 71 )”, he echoes the factual revelation that the BIBLE is aimed at serving as everyone’s basic instructions before leaving earth. It is instructive to underscore the reason why God recommends meditation on His precepts as the proven prerequisite for true prosperity in life. And here Apostle Paul expounded to Timothy that besides its serving as the basic instructions for righteousness, the entire holy writ provides both reproof and correction in believers’ daily engagements or disengagement for righteousness.   “traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,” II Timothy‬ ‭3:4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ The uniqueness of a pleasure-driven life ambition is the satisfaction of carnal desires and affection. Without a prudent query on motive, the pursuits of life’s interest in a career, relationship, and project can present a commendable quest. But in the face of the challenges of life and possible show of hardness, those who join the train for pleasure can easily be separated from those who are driven by divine purpose. When Apostle Paul admonished young Timothy on the need to adopt a purpose plan in pursuit of success in ministry, he understood that the pleasure plan is filled with the satisfaction of fleshy desires and cannot please God. It is possible to love God with pleasure; but it is not possible to love pleasure with God…it’s just a game of plan.

The same common desire in all of human relationships is often threatened by the divergence in self-interests and the system-interest. Whenever self-interest of parties at home violate the purpose of God for the family, riotous relationship is ensued. Likewise, riotous relationships in the corporate world, public services, and our political system have their roots in the promotion of self-interests above the desire of the hearts to please God. Otherwise, the hearts will be easily entreated, persecuted, and even violated without the slightest tendency to bring down the home, workplace and the society, against the Will of GOD.
