Mighty Ministry

“ But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.” Acts 20 : 24 NKJV The distinction between ministration and manipulation appears to be the differentiation of “who is moving?” from “what is being moved?”. When moveable men initiate movements, those who are moved by the immovable God are rather focussed on His mighty ministry and need no alarm. And like Elisha of old told the series of rudderless sons of the prophets “ Yes, I know; keep silent! ”, Apostle Paul’s “ But none of these things move me“ response to manipulating movements is inspiring. Just like Elisha focussed on the mighty ministry ahead of him and got the double portion of the auction to function in the room of Elijah, believers today can equally follow the footsteps of those who were determined to finish their race with joy, and the ministry which th...

Right Race

“But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.” Acts 20 : 24 NKJV The major problem with rat race in life is that people often run the race to achieve what they really would not need, to impress those who are probably undesirable to them, and to celebrate an attainment possibly designed for their containment. Whereas, those who are focused on the right race do not run because people are running, go to where everyone is going, and do not necessarily desire what everyone is desiring. For example, in spite of the popular knowledge and revelation that chains await Apostle Paul in Jerusalem, he knew that the race to Jerusalem was right because God had an assignment for him there. Likewise, the race from Gilgal to Jordan with Elijah was the right race for Elisha; and he had to ignore the discouragement from his colleagu...

Race Runner

“ But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God .” Acts‬ ‭20:24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ The personalization of the race track for every runner is something that most people wouldn’t do. While there might be many people running at the same time and event, everyone has his own track to keep. Any attempt to crisscross the tracks will lead to disqualification and inability to finish the race well. From Paul and the determination to keep his track without distraction, many believers can learn a lot on how to be a good race runner. For those whose life is so important to them, there are so many issues of life to take personal, like 1. Discontentment; 2. Discouragement; 3. Disappointment; etc. But like Paul chose to run his race with grace, we all need the G-factor to run the race before us appropriately and with our priority on godliness...

Righteous Race

“But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭ 20:24 ‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/114/act.20.24.nkjv The race for relevance in the family, fellowship and the fields of life’s endeavour is built for real man, especially those who are prepared for its accompanying sacrifices. But when someone said in reference to the battles of life ‘ you win some, you lose some’ , it becomes obvious the challenges of prioritizing the diversity of interests in the race of life. However, among the divers of considerations and criteria in the race of life, real men are expected to respect the axiom that if ‘ you win some, you lose some ’, you must live to fight again. Unfortunately, by the consideration ‘nor do I count my life dear to myself’, Paul’s criterion here appeared and will always appear stupid until the understan...
