Godliness is built on every believer’s relationship with God. Those who practice religion instead of relationship can rhetorically echo ‘God is good’, but can hardly submit themselves to the same God to make them good as Himself. Whereas, God is not just good; those who truly trust in God are His goods. Unfortunately, people are motivated into the practice of evil and wickedness because they trust either in themselves or in other people, instead of trusting absolutely in the LORD. When the scriptures later admonish “Do not fret—it only causes harm”, we can tell how fear is like the venom of the fiery serpents that bite the children of Israel in the wilderness. And like the Lord recommended the ever-sufficient ‘look and live’ solution to the venom in the Old Testament, the psalmist’s admonition to trust and delight in the Lord is ever potent today. Looking aside, behind, and around can only make every believer’s online and offline experiences energy-sapping, discouraging and depressing. For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the Lord, They shall inherit the earth ” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ The transient moment of prosperity is not only attractive to evil doers, the upright in hearts can also be easily taken on a ride with fear. The fear of failure and disappointment produces many wicked vices in seemingly honest followers in the path of righteousness. Unfortunately, all frustration-inspired angers have no special permit in the court of holiness and righteousness. Many homes, marriages, and relationships have been destroyed on the account of provoked anger. And after the anger is unleashed, the impact cannot be reversed.
