Transformative Touch

“ And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him. After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly. And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.” Mark 8 : 22 , 25 - 26 KJV Blindness has different sizes, shapes, and formats. For example, physical blindness is different from emotional blindness, or psychological and spiritual blindness. The depth of blindness of the blind man at Bethsaida was obviously deeper than physical blindness. While sympathizers had to take the lead in seeking for the touch of Jesus to remove his physical blindness, they were oblivious of his absent-mindedness. Jesus had to walk him on a journey of faith to bring back his focus on the author and finisher of his faith: “ And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his han...

Wilful Work

“ Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whom the LORD put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the LORD had commanded. And Moses called Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come unto the work to do it: ” Exodus 36 : 1 - 2 KJV Parents who struggled with self-willed (or strong-willed) children and wards are often encouraged to grow up with a positive perspective on the strength of wilfulness. When God inspired the hearts of man into His own service, every wise hearted man becomes a positive demonstration of wilfulness. For example, Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man in the camp of Moses in the wilderness were dutifully engaged by God and not necessarily Moses. It implies that life is simply a mixed collection of wilful and wasteful works, depending on the sourc...

True Teaching

“ The meek will he guide in judgment: And the meek will he teach his way. All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth Unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.” Psalm 25 : 9 - 10 KJV The major problem with motivational speeches and quotable quotes from sages is that these teachings are still the subjective opinions of men. Even lives built on sermons from men, rather than direct teachings and revelations from God, can be twisted teachings that are motivated by personal interests of the preachers. And when the psalmist declared “ The meek will he guide in judgment: And the meek will he teach his way“, it was alluded that true teaching is only possible by personal, deliberate and decisive submission of hearts to the truth. Rather than being buoyed by intelligent gathering of information and investigative inquisition on any matters of life, the meek will readily seek the face of the Lord and get enlightened by scriptural revelations. He is expressly willing to let g...

Resetting Rest

“And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught. And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.” Mark 6 : 30 - 31 KJV  Besides going to Church every Sunday as a symbolism of keeping the Sabbath day, appearances in God’s presence as a congregation provides the opportunity of worship and spiritual refreshment. Actually, a fruitful child of God has a faithful fellowship with God every day. The disciples here had narrated to Jesus Christ how they had performed on the mission field, expecting commendations…but a communion with God for spiritual nourishment was rather recommended. Likewise today, life readily serves consistent engagement at home, workplaces, and the society. And without a conscious take on the resetting rest, faithful workers are commended with more work an...

Divine Dressing

“ Drink waters out of thine own cistern, And running waters out of thine own well.” Proverbs 5 : 15 KJV Whether the referenced cistern or well speaks to marriage, mission, or ministry, the recommended message of sanctification before satisfaction is clear. While contract relationships in marriage, mission, and ministry are woven by mere satisfaction of the parties involved, only covenant relationship of all parties with God can offer the indispensable sanctification with satisfaction of hearts. Therefore, “ Drink waters out of thine own cistern, And running waters out of thine own well ” are not mere recommendations from mortal counsellors; they represent the main commandment of the Creator of heaven and earth. Beyond the desirable pleasures from marriage, mission, or ministry in life, believers find purpose for living in every alignment with the revealed will of God. The moment our god-assigned cistern or well are discovered, believers can be assured that God delights hencefo...

Holy Hill

“ Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; Who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, And righteousness from the God of his salvation.” Psalm 24 : 3 - 5 KJV One of the detestable references to the holy hill of God is that it is merely a place for hustling, not helpfulness. This misconception often makes believers’ panting for holiness less attractive. Unfortunately, the deception has succeeded in turning many ministers in the vineyard of the Lord into tools for manipulation in the hands of the enemy. Whereas, the first fruits of the revival of holiness and righteousness are helpfulness and blessings from the Lord. Rather than seeking financial blessings, political appointments, and professional achievements with compromises, deceit, and unrighteousness, clean hands and a pure heart actually attract unlimited blessings and p...

Great Gain

“ And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him. Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.” Mark 5 : 18 - 20 KJV If possession by the devils is a great loss, possession by the Lord Jesus Christ is definitely a great gain. Unfortunately, those who haven’t grasped the scope of the great gain are necessarily possessed with the fear of invasion. When the people of the country of the Gadarenes initially encountered the deliverance of the man previously possessed by the Legion of evil spirits, the scriptures say “ And they began to pray him (Jesus) to depart out of their coasts ” because of their fear of reprisals from the power of darkness. Even the freed man would not leave...
