Moveable Mountains

“ God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: He uttered his voice, the earth melted. The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.” Psalm 46 : 5 - 7 KJV “ God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved “ is a promise of God to Israel - the people of God - who keep the commandments of their God. Steadfast faith and confidence in God make the people of God see mountains and the challenges of life always as moveable before the immovable God. Unfortunately, when we see ourselves surrounded by mountains and not discern the presence of the immovable God, we take the faithless, faulty, and fraudulent moves from pillar to pole. Whereas, with every believer’s consistent focus on the revelation of “ God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved“ , he will literally see the mountains move even when no one is pursuing or chasing them. For example, the 10 spies th...

Soul Satisfaction

“ Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. ”  Luke 17 : 3 - 4 KJV Soul struggles with offences are mostly powered by the mindset that forgiveness is a service to the offending others. Whereas, Christ’s admonition for His disciples to “ Take heed to yourselves “ begs to differ. Soul satisfaction comes by knowing, standing, and making the right choices on what it chooses to ‘forget’ and what it chooses to ‘remember’ . Holding on to offences is clearly a slavish tendency to achieve satisfaction from human actions and inaction; and the offending parties are strangely permitted to hold unto the keys to soul satisfaction as long as the offences remain unsettled. Whereas, you can easily “ Take heed to yourselves “ by forgiving and forgetting these offences to secure the right ...

Treasure Trust

“ If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?” Luke 16 : 11 - 12 KJV Christ’s description of material wealth, worldly riches, and legal tenders as unrighteous mammon implies that this world’s goods are far from God’s true treasures. Oftentimes, God unveils His true treasures in our attainment of life’s essence of existence after we have been found faithful with our management of unrighteous mammons. Starting with faithfulness to parental rules, academic honesty, business integrity, marital fidelity to ministerial assignments, the motivation behind treasure trust is always the same: “If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?“. Unfortunately, many people have always converted their treasure trust to life’s true riches, thereby selling t...

Self Starving

“ And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, and am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants .” Luke 15 : 17 - 19 KJV One of the salient lessons from the parable of the prodigal son is that  the consequence of taking a journey into a far country away from the Father is  self starving. Unfortunately, the same concept of self serving applied to the elder son who lived in the house of sufficiency, where he chose to delight in taking a journey of mind far away from the available resources in the house. Self serving is the motivation behind the feeding of every believer’s mind with anxiety, fear, and all forms of intimidation when the promises of God are loaded with faith, love and sound mind. Our enemy doesn’t have new strategies beside th...

Call Cost

“ And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? ” Luke 14 : 27 - 28 KJV Without a consistent refresher course on the cost of discipleship, the commitment of every disciple to cross-bearing will become dull along the way. Starting a good race is good, but finishing the race is better; and that’s the cause or prognosis of the enemy’s craze. Although the call cost is captured vividly in “ If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple (Luke 14 : 26 )”, the detail of the requirements varies from one disciple to another disciple. For example, the call cost for Joseph’s call to follow his dream and the fulfillment of God’s purpose for his existence resulted in his separation from family and Father for h...

Higher Heights

“ But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.” Luke 14 : 10 - 11 KJV While the application can be readily misconstrued in the pursuit of higher heights, there is a significant difference between aspiration and arrogance in life. Considering the fact that life and its purpose for existence represent a given bid, the aspiration of everyone is powered through the focus of the heart by discipline and dedication to all the necessary activities to the achievement of goals. Despite the fact that these aspirations expect to lead to higher heights, the grasping of higher heights is the motivation of aspirations. Whereas, arrogant hearts are overtly concerned about the grasping of higher heights and positions of author...

Gracious Gateway

“ Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: Teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: And the knowledge of the holy is understanding. ” Proverbs 9 : 9 - 10 KJV  “ Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: And with all thy getting get understanding (Proverbs 4 : 7 )” suggests the prospect of all kinds of getting in the world outside the purview of the principal thing. Ironically, all kinds of getting that produce material affluence, artificial intelligence, financial prosperity, and physical strength are readily twisted as wisdom. Whereas, this worldly wisdom in God’s economy is simply considered as foolishness. If the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and not even wisdom yet, it is not surprising why the fear of the lords and principalities of worldly wisdom is foolishness. The fear of the LORD provides access to the gracious gateway towards the accumulation and application of godly ...
