Fearful Followers

“ And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: for I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.” Luke 19 : 20 - 21 KJV  “ Occupy till I come ” in the kingdom business on earth remains a standing commandment of the Lord to all His disciples, while He goes to prepare the heavenly kingdom. As faithful followers obey the commandment by engaging their talents, treasures, and time for kingdom business, fearful followers waste these resources and opportunities on excuses, not actually because they fear the Lord. They are apparently intimidated by the actions and inaction of bullies and unbelievers, who have vowed that the kingdom business is not fashionable, inappropriate, and unacceptable to their earthly lifestyle and norms. Therefore, fearful followers are compromisers and believers without backbones, who are more interested in ungodly practices and...

Just Judgements

“ And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchæus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.” Luke 19 : 4 - 5 KJV Furthermore on yesterday’s exhortation from Christ on the provision of sweet fellowship from our just Judge as the motivation for importunity in prayer, believers’ cultivation of a lifestyle of an intimate relationship with God proposes nothing less than just judgements in all circumstances of life. For example, Zacchaeus must have explored the limits of offers from life’s corrupt judgements with no satisfaction. His experience shows the utmost misery of possessing money without the mercy of the Creator. “ And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him (Jesus)” represents the fundamental requirement for anyone who wants to access God’s grace for just judgement against the crisis of life. ...

Just Judge

“ And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” Luke 18 : 1 , 6 - 8 KJV If importunity in prayer is taught by fate to the unjust judge in our world, faith in the just Judge is possible through prayer. Invariably, Christ is saying that if importunity can bend an unjust judge, believers shouldn’t faint in the place of prayer to our just Judge. But oftentimes, believers have problems with the basis of the just Judge’s delay “ And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?” …because we do not see prayer as a means of fellowship and worship to God.  Like William Temple, the Archbishop of Canterbury...

Moveable Mountains

“ God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: He uttered his voice, the earth melted. The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.” Psalm 46 : 5 - 7 KJV “ God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved “ is a promise of God to Israel - the people of God - who keep the commandments of their God. Steadfast faith and confidence in God make the people of God see mountains and the challenges of life always as moveable before the immovable God. Unfortunately, when we see ourselves surrounded by mountains and not discern the presence of the immovable God, we take the faithless, faulty, and fraudulent moves from pillar to pole. Whereas, with every believer’s consistent focus on the revelation of “ God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved“ , he will literally see the mountains move even when no one is pursuing or chasing them. For example, the 10 spies th...

Soul Satisfaction

“ Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. ”  Luke 17 : 3 - 4 KJV Soul struggles with offences are mostly powered by the mindset that forgiveness is a service to the offending others. Whereas, Christ’s admonition for His disciples to “ Take heed to yourselves “ begs to differ. Soul satisfaction comes by knowing, standing, and making the right choices on what it chooses to ‘forget’ and what it chooses to ‘remember’ . Holding on to offences is clearly a slavish tendency to achieve satisfaction from human actions and inaction; and the offending parties are strangely permitted to hold unto the keys to soul satisfaction as long as the offences remain unsettled. Whereas, you can easily “ Take heed to yourselves “ by forgiving and forgetting these offences to secure the right ...

Treasure Trust

“ If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?” Luke 16 : 11 - 12 KJV Christ’s description of material wealth, worldly riches, and legal tenders as unrighteous mammon implies that this world’s goods are far from God’s true treasures. Oftentimes, God unveils His true treasures in our attainment of life’s essence of existence after we have been found faithful with our management of unrighteous mammons. Starting with faithfulness to parental rules, academic honesty, business integrity, marital fidelity to ministerial assignments, the motivation behind treasure trust is always the same: “If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?“. Unfortunately, many people have always converted their treasure trust to life’s true riches, thereby selling t...

Self Starving

“ And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, and am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants .” Luke 15 : 17 - 19 KJV One of the salient lessons from the parable of the prodigal son is that  the consequence of taking a journey into a far country away from the Father is  self starving. Unfortunately, the same concept of self serving applied to the elder son who lived in the house of sufficiency, where he chose to delight in taking a journey of mind far away from the available resources in the house. Self serving is the motivation behind the feeding of every believer’s mind with anxiety, fear, and all forms of intimidation when the promises of God are loaded with faith, love and sound mind. Our enemy doesn’t have new strategies beside th...
