Winners’ Way

“ A righteous man hateth lying: But a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame. Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: But wickedness overthroweth the sinner. ” Proverbs 13 : 5 - 6 KJV To Saul in the Old Testament and Saul in the New Testament, finding the winners’ way takes different approaches. From the benefits of hindsight, we know that the Old Testament Saul’s approach is wrong. While he employed wickedness against David to preserve himself on the throne as the king of Israel, he failed to enjoy the beauty of the forcefully occupied throne and faltered in the delivery of services to his subjects on the throne. Surely, “ Good understanding giveth favour: But the way of transgressors is hard (Proverbs 13 : 15)”; and little wonder why a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame at the end of the day. The winners’ way is the knowing of Jesus and the doing of His commandments at all times, in all things, by all means, and for all purposes. This was the t...

God’s Glory

” Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him. If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him. A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” John 13 : 31 - 32 , 34 - 35 KJV By “ Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him ”, Christ Jesus’ response to His betrayal by Judas Iscariot teaches a new dimension of God’s glory through the show of love in our betrayal and brutally. Judas’ condemnation and destruction after the deed could have been avoided, even after the deed of betrayal and brutality, if he actually repented and returned back to where he left off God’s glory in fellowship with the fellow disciples (he wasn’t replaced until much more after the gathering at the upper room for the baptism ...

Great Glory

“ Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands: Sing forth the honour of his name: Make his praise glorious. Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! Through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee .” Psalm 66 : 1 - 3 KJV While the celebration of the glory of the Lord on a constant basis is the major essence of a believer's existence, the enemy would rather delight in our focus on any pocket of gruesome gory. Therefore, “ Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands‘ is a command and not a consultation. Surely, a focus on the great wonders of God in our lives and the affairs of our loved ones has a way of boosting every believer’s confidence in the power of the Lord, comfort in the presence of the Lord, and courage in the precepts of the Lord. We see things around and times ahead in the  light of God’s promises when the heart is filled with the praises of the great glory of God. Invariably, the enemy of God’s people is frustratingly...

Grounded Glory

“ And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” John 12 : 23 - 24 KJV Grounding and glorying are literally treated as words and opposite. But spirituality, grounding is complimentary to glorying. Beyond Christ as word becoming flesh to announce God’s plan of redemption, “ Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die” heralded the death, crucifixion and burial of Christ before the glory of His resurrection is unveiled. Invariably, the grounded glory is the unique testimony of Christ as the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Starting from the first apostles in the early church, disciples of all ages in the past over 2000 years ago have been lifting up the redemption story with glorious testimonies of conversion from sins and deliverance from satanic oppression. Likewise, any believer...

Hardened Hearts

“ Wherefore then do ye harden your hearts, as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? when he had wrought wonderfully among them, did they not let the people go, and they departed?”  1 Samuel 6 : 6 KJV The sermon according to the priests and diviners of the Philistines teaches that life’s encounters with either mercy or misery depends on the interplay between the holy hands of God and the hardened hearts of men. The extension of God”s holy hands through the instrumentality of the Philistines  against the Israelites was still within His prerogative. God wanted to punish Eli and his children for their sins and atrocities, as earlier announced. Unfortunately, the Philistines in their arrogance and pride went beyond their bounds by their confiscation of the Ark of the Lord on one hand, and its confinement in the temple of Dagon on the other hand. And in an apparent ‘Let my presence go ’ warning about the Ark of the Lord at the temple of Dagon, the lords of th...

Prevailing Prayer

“ Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: Preserve my life from fear of the enemy. And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; For they shall wisely consider of his doing. The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; And all the upright in heart shall glory. ” Psalm‬ ‭64‬:‭1‬, ‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭KJV‬‬ The only escape from Ichabod experience in life is a prevailing prayer. Prior to this turnaround experience, believer’s prayer is often a channel for the expression of fear, anxiety, and worry. The fear of the enemy’s sagacity, strategies, and sentences is the basis for perplexing prayer, when the hearts are overwhelmed by wiles and ways of the wicked. Notwithstanding, pushing through towards “ Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer “ remains the privilege of a prevailing prayer. Rather than succumbing to the voices of fear and intimidation, the redeemed and righteous believers can exercise their voices against the activities of the wicked. Prayer holds unto the pr...

Soul’s Sanctuary

“ O God, thou art My God; early will I seek thee: My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee In a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, So as I have seen thee in the sanctuary .” Psalm 63 : 1 - 2 KJV Without grace and glory is disgrace and emptiness. This is always the soul’s story until God is found. Unfortunately, the search for satisfaction in life has always proffered material wealth, multiplicity of women, and manifestation of wisdom; but the end story has been nothing different from dryness and thirst. The reality on ground is that the provision of material things and the basic things of life can be the desirable sanctuary for the body, they cannot replace the innate portion for God in the soul of man.  God is the soul’s sanctuary and the only place for rest and satisfaction from dryness and thirst. By realizing God as the soul’s sanctuary, it is easier for anyone to understand why the decoration of the body’s sanctuary i...
