Fruitful Fellowship

“ And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee .” 1 Kings 17 : 8 - 9 KJV The relationship between God and Elijah in this perplexing moment shows that faithfulness begats fruitfulness. And the only anchor of faithfulness with God is the unfiltered access to the word of the Lord. Unfortunately, in these days of social media, artificial intelligence, and aggressive networking, it is more important to strengthen Wi-Fi connectivity than to invest in spiritual mountaineering. The daunting implications of our false hope in the brilliance of digital access is negatively influencing the confidence of those who wait upon the Lord for revival and restoration of fruitful sustenance. Particularly, like Elijah was asked to expect sustenance from a widow woman in Zarephath, we are tempted to faint on God’s approaches in dealing with our perplexing challe...

Anointed Attention

“ And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed. ” Acts 16 : 25 - 26 KJV When Charles Haddon Spurgeon described the power of prayer as ‘the slender nerve that moves the muscles of omnipotence’ , he simply implied the anointed attention between the natural man and the almighty God. By Paul and Silas’ prayer and singing praises to God, the foundation of the prison was subjected to a great earthquake, the prison doors were opened, the prisoners’ chains and shackles were loosed, the entire household of the jailor were saved from sin, and the magistrates that persecuted and imprisoned them were broken and reduced to beggars. Unfortunately, today, believers still preferred the courting of the attention of this world’s magistrates, instead of calling on God in tim...

Gainful Gathering

“ And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us. And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them .” Acts 16 : 9 - 10 KJV Without the right vision about all the issues of life, it would not be surprising how life’s gatherings are doomed. For example, a wrong vision about political position as the king of Israel ruined the amazing promises of God to Jeroboam. Even the young prophet from Judah that carried the divine counsel to Jeroboam was deceived by wrong vision, and he ended up with the gross gathering of untimely death. Whereas, gainful gathering always starts with “ And a vision appeared to Paul in the night ”, and followed by “ immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.” Even wh...

Sure Stardom

“ And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do that is right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto thee.” 1 Kings 11 : 38 KJV The stardom of Jeroboam was both prophetic and prevailing, in spite of all attempts by king Solomon and Rehoboam to subvert it. If only believers can rest on the confidence that only stardom announcement from the Lord can withstand all intimidation from the enemies of righteousness, they wouldn’t fall for the likes of distraction that befell Jeroboam. The promise “ that I will be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto thee” is always conditional upon every believer’s keeping the statutes and commandments of the Lord. Unfortunately, stardom often intoxicates the heads, and keeps steadfastness out of the heart...

Wondrous Works

“ Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them. That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, And all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, Saith the Lord, who doeth all these things. Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world .” Acts 15 : 12 , 17 - 18 KJV While the scriptural context unveils the wondrous works of God towards the extension of His redemption plan to the gentile world, anyone can take away the perilous drawbacks of the wilful works in the heart. If everyone sincerely admits himself as a model of God’s works and truly believes that “ known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world ”, there will be no struggle with calls for absolute submission to the Will of God in all of life’s engagements. Unfortunately, the wilful works have always struggled to overturn the divine agenda in life’s relationships and affai...

Wise Walk

“ And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments: then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.” 1 Kings 9 : 4 - 5 KJV For carnally minded people, wise walk is limited to a public display of sycophancy, diplomacy, and wastefulness. Therefore, “ And if thou wilt walk before me, as the Devil thy father walked, in the intelligence of heart, and in waywardness ” is readily preferred to “ And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness“ . The argument has always been that the wayward walk is considered smart and proactive, especially when it appears no one is watching. Whereas,  “ And if thou wilt walk before me “ suggests God is always watching the st...

Pure Place

“ And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims. And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD. ” 1 Kings 8 : 6 , 10 - 11 KJV While it is generally believed that the Ark of covenant represents the presence of God, the belief does not readily underscore the relevance of retaining the Ark of covenant in the most holy place - the heart of man. Yet, it was not until after king Solomon brought the Ark of covenants from the city of David to the most holy place in the newly built temple (and the priests came into the congregation of meeting from the most holy place) that “ the cloud filled the house of the LORD, so that the priests could not stand to minister because...
