Wise Worship

  “ Then he said to me, “See that you do not do that. For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God. ”” Revelation 22 : 9 NKJV It is natural for any man to worship what or who he appreciates. Unfortunately, when we replace the worship of God for the worship of people and things that command our respect on the basis of their performances, we automatically break our allegiance to God and His commandments. For example, the wholesome performance of the angel with the revelation of the eschatological events was highly impressive to John the Beloved; and he was reasonably moved to worship the angel for this performance. Absolutely, there is nothing wrong with our showing of gratitude with appreciation; but it is always difficult for the heart of man to draw the line or boundary that can definitely separate appreciation from worship. Timeless Truth

  “ Then he said to me, “These words are faithful and true.” And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things which must shortly take place. “Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.” ” Revelation 22 : 6 - 7 NKJV In spite of the fact that all time-bound truth are simply lies, they possess a riveting influence on the hearts of simple men and faithless believers. And while the promises of God and scriptural revelations are mostly couched with “ Behold, I am coming quickly! ”, they represent timeless truth from the throne of grace and the declaration of the Creator of heaven and earth. Unfortunately, the time-bound truths and declarations that are influenced by the status of men, scientific realities, and sophisticated intelligence of the created things do readily turn believers into faithless folks.
