Faithless Fellowship
“ Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith .” 2 Thessalonians 3 : 1 - 2 KJV Apostle Paul’s prayer solicitation for deliverance from faithless fellowship suggests the reality of the practice of faithlessness in the household of faith. Faithfulness among unbelievers is natural and shouldn’t really portend significant danger to believers. Unfortunately, believers’ homes and social circles are nowadays saturated with unscriptural opinions, practices, and compromises. Basically, when the gestures and overtones of brethren do not represent the scenario of “ Iron sharpeneth iron; So a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend (Proverbs 27 : 17 )”, there must be dullness and dreadfulness in the free course of the word of the Lord or simple faith in God’s promises.
