Fruitful Fear

  “ Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine In the very heart of your house, Your children like olive plants All around your table. Behold, thus shall the man be blessed Who fears the Lord. The Lord bless you out of Zion, And may you see the good of Jerusalem All the days of your life.” Psalms 128 : 3 - 5 NKJV When the scriptures say “ The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant ( Psalms 25 : 14 )”, it laid the foundation of the only fruitful fear in this life. Other types of fear are slavish, selfish, and satanic. For example, the fear of prosperity, protection and preservation of family members make many people to bow down to stranger altars that eventually bind them into satanic covenants. Whereas, believers’ wives and children are part of the heritage of the Lord, fully covered under the new covenant. And while the meal plan is really the least of life’s myriad of functional fears at home, workplaces, and societies, the reasons behind the insecurity, insanity, and inadequacies in our world are not far fetched. Thankfully, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, wholesomeness, and worthiness. With this godly fear, decency, discipline and discretion at home, workplaces, the society and life’s daily engagements are no longer heavily dependent on man’s performances, but on God’s promises and providence.
