Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow .” Psalms 51 : 6 - 7 NKJV Everyone knows that a partial purge from sin is all about a controlled coverup of corruption, imperfections, and unrighteousness. King David was skillful in this coverup act, especially drawing from his bracing coverup for adultery with murder. Supported by his palace privileges and the control of state security apparatus, the coverup option provided the needed partial purge against negative public opinions. But after his acknowledgment of God’s desire for a pure purge with “ Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom“, the psalmist made a passionate plea for the clean option, praying  “ Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow ”.   “Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.” Psalms‬ ‭51‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ While the psalmist’s confession and communication with God borders on the desire for forgiveness from sin, it lays the fundamental principle for seeking wisdom and divine guidance in life. Everyone who approaches the presence of God with a contrite and humble heart, like ‘I have sinned ’, is simply serving the almighty what He desires…the transparent truth. Even the seemingly innocent but humble hearts are easily guided in the path of wisdom. For example, when the Gibeonites deceived Joshua and Israelites and went away with it, the scriptures added the transparent truth about the fact that Israelites bought the lies because they didn’t ask counsel from the Lord (Joshua 9:14).
