Faithful Followers

“ And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way .” Mark 10 : 52 KJV When Jesus told blind Bartimaeus “ Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole ”, it definitely emphasized the importance of faith for fruitful followership.  Considering the fact that blind Bartimaeus was apparently nameless (being merely called blind son of Timaeus suggested that he lacked followership, and suffered rejection by people), yet he was a faithful follower of the Son of David and the only Redeemer. Compared with an earlier encounter of another blind man with appreciable followership but lacked faith in Jesus, it is important to note that faith in Jesus is all that matters in every believer’s fruitful followership. And as the month of March opens with several opportunities and different progressive suggestions with ‘Go thy way’ , there is always a Jesus way; and absolute faith in Him is the only requirem...

Greek Gift

“ And He said to them, “What do you want Me to do for you?” They said to Him, “Grant us that we may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on Your left, in Your glory.” But Jesus said to them, “You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?” ” Mark 10 : 36 - 38 NKJV For access to God’s promised glory in life and ministry, it is understandable why believers often prefer the Greek gift to the gracious gift. Patience mostly seems painful, rather than gainful. So, Jesus said to them, “ You do not know what you ask “; and we still do not readily know what life package or present to us as a Greek gift, attracting the sense of impatience. There is nothing wrong in the pursuit of glory in life, career, family, and ministry, but a sustainable glory alway...

Delightful Desires

” So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road .“ Mark‬ ‭10‬:‭51‬-‭52‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Our text today broadly categorized the different types of human desires into three, including deceitful, divisive, and delightful desires. Unlike the way Christ clearly revealed God’s redemption plan to His disciples (on how He was heading for the trail of suffering and death on the Cross of Calvary), many of today’s desires can only accommodate deceits, and everything, mostly in opposition to God’s will, as long as they are perceived as not in agreement with the convenient yardstick of the flesh. The divisive type of desires was adopted by James and John whose passion for promotion was not mindful of the consequent division that this selfish desire will generate among the d...
