Righteous Response

  “ Now the man from whom the demons had departed begged Him that he might be with Him. But Jesus sent him away, saying, “ Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you .” And he went his way and proclaimed throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him .” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭8:38-39‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ The best way to start the New Year on a wrong note is to retain our fears of failure to get the desirable right response in the previous year. Living by facts in life breeds nothing more than fear. The people in the country of Gadarenes acted out their fear by sending Jesus out of their coast; and the man who was delivered from the legion of demons also could have been disappointed by the response of Jesus to his request to stay with Him, apparently inspired by fear. Great Gospel

After his freedom from demons, he was constrained to expressed the willingness to follow Jesus; instead of the possible embrace of fellowship with the people in the city. Although the actions of the people to the miracle leading to his freedom from demon-possession were discouraging, it does not undermine the great things God had done for him. Instead of accepting the shame-inflicting strategy of the devil and keep quiet, Jesus admonished him to “Return to your own house (comfort zone), and tell what...
