Service Sacrifice

“ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12 : 1 - 2 KJV The idea of service as a sacrifice has been instituted by God, right from the Old Testament dispensation. Love as a character of God is a service sacrifice, demonstrated by the offering of His only begotten Son, Jesus  Christ, for the salvation of humanity from the bondage of sin. Likewise, believers in Christ Jesus, called brethren, are expected to present their bodies daily as a living or service sacrifice at home, workplaces, and in the society. Since these services include loving people in our lives that are undeserving of love, gifting tips to people in the neighborhood that appear to be taking advantage of our ...

Saintly Sacrifice

“ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. ” Romans 12 : 1 - 2 NKJV Since the making of saints attracted divine sacrifice by the mercies of God, divine plead for saintly sacrifice should be a privilege accorded to any living soul. In the saintly sacrifice economy, there is no longer need for the bodily sacrifice of animals or humans; the final sacrifice was paid for by the offering of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. Notwithstanding, the saintly sacrifice now connotes believers’ unwavering offering of their talents, time, and treasures for the service of humanity, especially in the face of extreme confrontations, conflicts, and controversies. Anyone can claim to offer worldly services on...

Saints’ Supplies

“ distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. ” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Forbearing focus on non-essential, the needs of sinners are basic and straightforward. Even when the supply of material needs become necessary to open the door to their hearts, the presentation of the gospel of peace and salvation from sin slavery clearly remain the needs of sinners. Thereafter, life is faced with the complexities of understanding the needs of saints. Without the help of the Holy Spirit and intimacy with God, no one can excel in the task of distributing to the needs of the saints. Whereas, the assemblies of saints either at home or in the public space are always surrounded by confusion, discouragement, sanctimonious bitterness, jealousy and strife because no one is ready to plugin unto the Saviour’s surplus to understand the saints’ supplies. All saints are the Saviour’s surplus extension and dealers for a ceaseless distribution of His grace and manifold benefits. Sometim...

Devoted Deacon

“distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭ 12:13 ‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/114/rom.12.13.nkjv When giving is viewed mostly from the standpoint of service to the needy instead of devotion to God, it is understandable why people cannot properly assess the rottenness of motives and the problem of partiality in most charity initiatives. Whereas at the early church, this same problem was successful addressed by the selection of deacons with honest report, wisdom of God, and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Otherwise, even just a good intention in distribution can misrepresent the “ needs of saints ” for “ wants in service ”. In order to truly give oneself to hospitality, focus on the recipients’ gifts must be replaced with the givers’ devotion to God. Unfortunately, when believers’ pursuits and passion in family life, ministry and career towards their most laudable services to humanity are driven by a selfish motive, it becomes easier for any...

Love Lots

Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:9-10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/114/rom.12.9-10.nkjv Everyone knows that love is both self-sacrificing and others considering. Notwithstanding, hypocrisy has always offer the assistance towards the withholding of the self sacrificing part in a relationship; and still get the credit for showing love. Experts in others considering can successfully create a comfortable environment for love expression; but with a deep and devastating tissues of pain. Therefore, the love lots admonition of the scriptures maintained “ Let love be without hypocrisy ”. Forbearing the needs or pressure for show up, true love must cost the sacrifice of time, comfort, position and opportunities for self and the preference of these resources for others first. The garden of love is always filled with contest for exch...

Full-house Fellowship

"Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith" (Romans 12:6 NKJV) A full-house is not measured by the size of the building, but by the complementary engagements of members within the building. Where everything works, there is no deficiency of hands towards the provision for every need. Such is the expectation within the household of faith; there is no redundancy of ideas. Since everyone is created for something special, there is no room for competition. This implies that the understanding of the special gift upon anyone is an indication of his relationship with God; and it is not expected to be by the comparison one's potentials with the abilities of other member of the community. We owe it to God alone, especially when we fail to function according to the divine auction.
