Performance Pressure

“ Your testimonies I have taken as a heritage forever, For they are the rejoicing of my heart. I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes Forever, to the very end .” Psalms 119 : 111 - 112 NKJV If performance is driven only by perspiration, diligence, discipline and determination will suffice for career and professional progression. Unfortunately, those in the trade of any professional field for acquisition can attest to the pressure to join secret cults and get initiated before progression can be guaranteed. In the actual sense, anyone who fails to hide under the inspiration of the scriptures or God’s statutes will get exposed to the initiation of secret cults. Therefore, when the psalmist says “ Your testimonies I have taken as a heritage forever“ , it merely reveals the secret of scriptural inspiration as a reliable escape from performance pressure. Unlike performance pressure, inclining the heart to perform the instruction and commandment of the Lord is rather a p...

Perfect Precepts

“ The wicked have laid a snare for me, Yet I have not strayed from Your precepts. Your testimonies I have taken as a heritage forever, For they are the rejoicing of my heart. I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes Forever, to the very end. ” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭110‬-‭112‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ It is common knowledge that good systems and institutions are governed by reliable regulations and bye-laws. Anyone who lives by these standards are usually expected to do well, with prosperity, promotion, and provisions. Unfortunately, compromises and conflict of interests often make culprits out of compliances. And as with the psalmist’s experience, following the Lord’s precepts requires great conviction in the journey of faith, especially against the activities of the wicked. Therefore, there are several other pliable precepts from the court of public opinion, political standing, socialization, and materialism. And uneasy agitation and impatience with divine counsels would readily lead anyone ...

Righteous Rhema

“Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:105‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ The words of principal at the workplace, partner at home, and principalities in the society are mostly remarkable. Career progression, family peace, and societal prosperity are known to be either woven or wasted by their counsels, depending on the personal interests of these external influences. Little wonder why many concerned personalities, like the psalmist, are drawn to a neutral Source of light and inspiration. When the scriptures say, referring to the Ancient of days, that ‘Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path’ , it reveals the absence of self-interest in all the revelations from the throne of grace. While the counsels from almost all external influences in everyone’s life are laden with selfish coloration or a self-lubricant to their personal agenda, the rhema from the Lord is always righteous and a lamp only to the feet of its recipients. Oh for a heart to truly trust in ...

Right Race

“Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:105‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/114/psa.119.105.nkjv As a perfect mix of a wrong and right racer, Justin Gatlin’s record as the oldest sprinter to win a medal in the men’s 100 meters at the World Athletics Championships provides the real life’s struggle with the pressure of performance. Whether at home, workplace, social functions, and the political space, maintaining the right lane and pace with the pressure of performance is sincerely impossible, without the shinning light in the word of God. When the Psalmist declared the word of God as the lamp to his feet and light to his path, he clearly denounced the subtle or stern influence of other sources of guidance or enhancers, including human opinion, cultural complications, political correctness, and diplomatic disposition. Although running the race of life with the variants of enhancers is widely acknowledged as cheating, the pressure of performance often ...

Lightened Life

http://bible.us/psa119.105-106.nkjv Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. I have sworn and confirmed That I will keep Your righteous judgments. Life is often filled with a bunch of struggle ‎between either a desire for guided feet or a delight in a lightened path. A devotion to the study of the principles of good success and moral precepts, as presented by the wisdom of men can offer a guided feet, without assurance of a lightened path. The path of the righteous is lightened, even when in deep colouration of waste and wickedness. Whenever the path get darkened, especially at the moment of the best investment of human resources, a lightened life is not greeted with despair and discouragement. The Psalmist has shown that a sustainable encouragement cannot be built on the accumulation of material wealth or the advancement of political influence. Real joy is anchored on the prosperity of the word of God in the heart of man. Therefore, a lightened life enjoys the combinat...
