Truth according to personal opinion and experiences with people is readily twisted and subject to bias, bigotry, and bitterness. Twisted truth feeds on believers’ unwillingness to engage the throne of grace for the inspiration of the Most High on all matters of life. When we compete for attention, approval, and appropriation by fellow men, it does make sense for people to fall for lip services, hypocrisy, and double dealings. Therefore, when the Pharisees opted for public performances to attract the attention and applause of the people, Jesus Christ promoted quiet time with the Father as the secret of His fame. Unfortunately, many people still believe that what they show to people to prove their capabilities and secure their acknowledgment are the determinants of breakthrough and excellence in life.
