Wise Works

  “ They soon forgot His works; They did not wait for His counsel, But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, And tested God in the desert. And He gave them their request, But sent leanness into their soul. ”  Psalms 106 : 13 - 15 NKJV One of the major sources of backsliding in human history is not challenge management, but it is often wealth management. When Israel was in bondage and under heavy servitude of Pharaoh, she would cry unto the Lord and wait patiently for the works of the Lord. Unfortunately, disobedience, murmuring and rebellion followed the moment after deliverance from Egypt. Likewise, wilful works and unwise strategies for resource management do readily characterize moments of freedom in life. Yahweh Yoke

  “ It shall come to pass in that day That his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, And his yoke from your neck, And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.” Isaiah 10 : 27 NKJV Like the Assyrian yoke to the nation of Israel, references to the activities of yokes in life often represent the overwhelming attention of people who should have focussed on the sovereignty of God. Whenever we are burdened by the challenges of life, we become a mere toy or pawn in the hands of our oppressors and appraisers alike. Unfortunately, toys or pawns have no purpose and goals; and believers turned toys or pawns really do not believe in anything.
