Healthy Heart

“Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, And let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth; Walk in the ways of your heart, And in the sight of your eyes; But know that for all these God will bring you into judgment. Therefore remove sorrow from your heart, And put away evil from your flesh, For childhood and youth are vanity.” Ecclesiastes‬ ‭11:9-10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Every time the littleness of bodily exercise, compared to spiritual exercise, is inspired by the admonition of Paul to Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:8, some folks will readily take exception. Here the Old Testament preacher apparently concealed the same admonition on the emphasis of a healthy heart. Healthy body does cheer vitality and productivity in life; but an unhealthy heart in healthy body is eternally sick. In our polluted and corrupt world, how can anyone grow a healthy heart that is devoid of bitterness, wrath, malice, and evil speaking without the love and power of Christ? Even the heart that is readily set on the path ...

Distinguished Delegates

“He who observes the wind will not sow, And he who regards the clouds will not reap.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭11:4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ It is true that motivation and good encouragement are great resources for productivity in life; but the absence of encouraging weather, economy, or environment is not a tenable excuse for the lack of productivity. Consistency in the use of our talent, treasure and time in life is simply a picture of whether we are distinguished delegates of God or not. Those who not distinguished do readily switch delegations and allegiances, depending on the circumstances of life. Unfortunately, the wind and the clouds are mostly distinguished delegates in their own right; but those who refused to be distinguished do give excuses based on the focused activities of the wind and clouds. Therefore, let the wind continue to blow and the clouds continue to drop dews; distinguished delegates will continue to sow their assigned seeds of righteousness and reap the joy of the Lord.

Examinable Enjoyment

“Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, And let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth; Walk in the ways of your heart, And in the sight of your eyes; But know that for all these God will bring you into judgment. Therefore remove sorrow from your heart, And put away evil from your flesh, For childhood and youth are vanity.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭11:9-10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ https://bible.com/114/ecc.11.9-10.nkjv The major challenge of the licence as a free moral agent is the balance of the freedom to enjoy and the fear of examination. Freedom to enjoy without fear of examination creates recklessness. Although recklessness appears enjoyable to irresponsible child, parent, leader, and student at the start, it surely brings shame and disgrace at the end to those who indulge in it. When God says enjoy your licence as a free moral agent responsibly, He expects the conscious understanding that there is no true enjoyment without righteousness. Likewise, fear of examination without freedom to enjoy...

Single-hearted Sower

“He who observes the wind will not sow, And he who regards the clouds will not reap.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭11:4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/114/ecc.11.4.nkjv The principle of sowing and reaping is naturally a good investment story, until a full disclosure of the level of risk involved is obtained. High risk investors are hard to find, especially when the heart is trained to pay attention to details. Particularly, in a land full of giants in criminality and buoyant in insecurity, people are often careful and reserved to calls for investment of love and expression of generosity.  But then, the scriptures admonished craving for a singlehearted mind: “He who observes the wind will not sow, And he who regards the clouds will not reap”. A singlehearted sower must derive pleasure in sowing for the good in the act, irrespective of the open revelation of the risk involved. When the gain attached to the act of sowing is remote, the good in the act of sowing is just sufficient for those...

Sacred Sowing

“He who observes the wind will not sow, And he who regards the clouds will not reap.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭11:4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/ecc.11.4.nkjv The prospect of risk management as a business venture is sufficiently lucrative if focused on maximising harvest from sowing or seed investments. By extension of the scope of risk to maximising the act of sowing towards profitable reaping, the scriptures underscore the relevance of divine discretion for prospective start-ups in social, family, and ministerial businesses. The bane of productive reaping in life is not solely based on the havoc caused by natural disasters, but it is mostly influenced by the lack of accommodating divine harvest through these " natural disasters ". Both the Sower and his seeds are God's investment for the overall good interest of His essence for human existence. The wind of appreciation for a commendable service in life and ministry may not appear wholesome; its reward always spread beyon...
