The mercy of God is unfathomable, unlimited, and boundless. Unfortunately, mortal men are readily deceived to accept the irredeemable fate of their archenemy Satan, who is forever doomed from the presence of God. Whereas, all humans have sinned and come short of the glory of God is merely one part of reality; the second part is always the redemption plan of God through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, when the psalmist cried out “ Return, O Lord, deliver me! Oh, save me for Your mercies’ sake! ”, he was bringing his soul into the acknowledgment of God as a merciful Maker. Whereas, the Almighty remains the focus of all achievers’ attention in their moments of affliction, and adversity. Instead of falling for an attention on affliction, believers use the achiever’s attention as an instrument of distraction on workers of iniquities. ‘For the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping.   “I am weary with my groaning; All night I make my bed swim; I drench my couch with my tears.” Psalms‬ ‭6:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ The greatness of an expression of grief is often described by an open devastation. Whereas, great grief is encouraged in a believer’s closet discussion with God. Like David, great men and honourable instruments in the hands of God must have their moments of groaning. Otherwise, the avoidable pride in the heart will make these promising vessels useless in the hands of God. When our grief is expressed in the open, we make the enemies rejoice and celebrate the creativity of their wickedness. But when the righteous leverages on the strength from the joy of the Lord, the camp of darkness is devastated and silenced. Notwithstanding, the expression of the Psalmist’s weariness with grief is always welcome only in the presence of our great God. Invariably, the expression of grief in the presence of our great God is simply great and good.

It implies that the attention for depression is more important than the expression of the problem. Unfortunately, when all efforts at seeking primary help from wrong sources failed, the victims of depression often opt for the worse. However, the Psalmist provides the great relief in the expression of an overwhelmed heart before the right burden Bearer - God. In His presence, there is nothing wrong with the expression of weariness, groaning, and weeping in a pool of bed swim tears. Invariably, the indispensable experiences of troubled time in life is not the same as the coming troublous times awaiting those who will miss the glorious rapture of God’s Saints. And for those who are troubled by the challenges of this life, frustrated delay in the fulfillment of God’s promises, and the troubling activities of wicked people, all-night swimming of bed and the tearful drenching of couch cannot prevent the eventual shinning of the coming day. So when the heart cry out in troubled time “OLORD —how long?”, there is always an inner joy of an intimate fellowship ...

The soul of man cannot resist evil by its moral uprightness. No sooner David realized the weakness of his morality ‎that he discovered the strength of God's grace. Ignorance of the strength of the grace of God keeps the invasion of sin and the workers of iniquity alive. It is not possible to expect freedom from unrighteousness on the merit of workers of iniquity. Genuine repentance with godly sorrow terminates contract with sin on the basis of the mercy of God alone.
