Honest Hearts

“ Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith, from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk, desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm .” I Timothy 1 : 5 - 7 NKJV “ That the law is not made for a righteous man ” presupposes the freedom of honest hearts from vices, unrighteousness and the general relational evils. Against the backdrop of the nuances from the dos and dons of the commandments, hearts that have genuinely experienced the grace of God are actually knitted in love, faith, honesty and humility. Whenever a supposedly redeemed heart struggles with the nuances of the dos and dons in this broken world, it should seek the refreshing dose of God’s grace rather than yielding to the cheap retaliatory gimmicks. And since honest hearts are principally holy, obedient, new natured, exceptional, sincere and truthful, they are simply unp...

Faithful Freedom

“ Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith, from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk, ” ‭‭I Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Whenever a physical man prides himself in his absolute freedom as a free moral agent, he is showing his ignorance about the superiority of the supernatural in all affairs of life over the natural. Whereas, true freedom is found in the grace of God that breaks the soul away from the bondage of sin and the entanglement of the heart of man against the purpose of God. The essence of the statutes of GOD or the purpose of His commandments is the experience of genuine love from a pure heart. Believers will have to soak themselves in the words of God and pray daily to retain this freedom from the contagious pollution through the system of side talks, evil comments, and unrighteous tendencies. The laws of man, institutional culture, and societal pressure from worldly attractions h...

Faith Fight

“having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck,” ‭‭I Timothy‬ ‭1:19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Those who engage in a fist fight sometimes do quote the scriptures out of context. That the violent take their possessions by force do not make reference to earthly inheritances. The same scriptural phrase is preceded by ‘…the kingdom of heaven suffers violence’, not the kingdom of this world (Matthew 11:12). The enemy knows that no one can engage in a fist fight on earth, and walk away with good conscience. And whenever the heart of believers become polluted with anger, bitterness, unforgiving spirit, and all forms of unrighteousness, it becomes disqualified to command the attention of the throne of grace and mercy. Whereas, God knows that it takes only faith to fight with good conscience and defeat the enemy. That’s why the scriptures encourage believers that they remain strategic in deploying faith fight, instead of fist fight. “ For we d...

Fiery Faith

“ having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck, ” ‭‭I Timothy‬ ‭1:19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Being the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen, faith would have remained insurmountable if the faithful is not surrounded by the ‘exploits’ of faith Compromisers. Open confidence in the promises of God with secret worship of the influence of the principalities of this world have become an indispensable compromise for the pursuit of prosperity and promotion in the world. Unfortunately, this mindset is the recipe for fainting faith and a bad conscience. Therefore, Paul had to warn young Timothy to be wary of this type of faith in order to avoid suffering the shipwreck of his faith. Honestly, it is difficult for the righteous to practically pursuit the manifestation of things hoped for, and visualize the things not seen without jumping ahead of God. That’s why faith is different from feeling. Even when nothing o...

Finite Genealogy

"This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief." (1 Timothy 1:15 NKJV) Although the plan of redemption spanned numerous genealogies from the fall of man (Adam) to his salvation (Jesus Christ), the redemptive blood of Christ is ageless. The birth of Christ took place among numerous events; but the evidence of his appearance is incomparable. Without mincing words, the essence of all of human existence becomes relevant, when they are referenced from the finite genealogy, i.e., the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ.
