Delightful Deal

  “ How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? How long wilt thou hide thy face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart daily? How long shall mine enemy be exalted over me? But I have trusted in thy mercy; My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me. ” Psalm 13 : 1 - 2 , 5 - 6 KJV The uniqueness of Psalms 13 is the comparison of a defiling thought with a delightful deal in real life. The heart is a chessboard where either a delightful deal or a defiling thought is played. That’s why Christ told the disciples elsewhere “ But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man (Matthew 15 : 18 )”. Therefore, those who have truly struck a deal with the Lord Jesus Christ by grace unto salvation do have a privilege to choose delight in the laws of the Lord and meditate only on His promises.
