Manifold Mercies

“ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God .” II Corinthians 1 : 3 - 4 NKJV In seasons of messes, the heart is tempted to seek help where there is no help. Whereas, merchants and messengers of manipulated mercies are readily skillful in the art of deceiving the unwary minds with miserable comforts and peanuts. Unfortunately, believers who patronize these merchants are ignorant of the scope of the manifold mercies of God, even in their seasons of messes. The mercies of God embody grace and comfort for perseverance and the soothing presence of God in believer’s moments of trials. Even when our season of trouble appears to tarry, the manifold mercies of God often extend across territories and ministries beyond the scope of our imagination. For example, the man...

Spirit Submission

“Not that we have dominion over your faith, but are fellow workers for your joy; for by faith you stand.” II Corinthians‬ ‭1:24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ The central message of the struggles in the support for gender equality, the fight against racial supremacy, and the advocacy against class oligarchy is simply emphasized in Paul’s statement to the Church. “ Not that we have dominion over your faith ” implies that leadership in the church or in the fellowship of God’s people is a service responsibility in line with spirit submission; and not spirit supremacy. Unfortunately, when Satan hijacked the struggle, it becomes a confrontation against leadership at home, the fellowship of God’s people, and the larger society. For example, feminism is no longer a struggle against inequality; it is a cardinal revolt against submission to the Spirit of God. Therefore, any believing party that is caught up in the struggle needs to learn how to avoid the strategic mixup. When all of God’s people with a like pr...

Spirit Seal

“Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.” ‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭1:21-22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Without suffering and the trials of faith, it would have been difficult for believers to appreciate the value of the Lord’s seal. Since the body cherishes pleasure, comfort, and convenience, the enemy have often used the withdrawal of these privileges to break believers’ confidence in God. Therefore, it takes the grace of God and faith to deny the flesh its desirable pleasures. Obviously, the crisis of faith will dangle several promises of establishment, promotion, and prosperity for the body at the expense of the soul. Unfortunately, these tainted promises come mostly from respectable sources and authority. But as Apostle Paul admonished believers at Corinth, God is the only Source of believer’s establishment through His grace and the seal of the Holy Spirit. Most times, this seal is perfected ...

Faith Fans

“Not that we have dominion over your faith, but are fellow workers for your joy; for by faith you stand.” ‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭ 1:24 ‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/114/2co.1.24.nkjv If building a personality of faith is difficult in our world of facts,  building a family and fellowship of people on like-precious faith is more difficult. Even when a progressive pursuits are surrounded with clear evidences and facts, it takes great efforts and forward-looking personality for anyone to court the support and trust of family members and friends.  Needless to commend the efforts of celebrities, successful politicians, and accomplished administrators towards building their circle of fans in our world today. But unlike the art of living by facts, faith do not work on the metrics of physical evidences and numerical accomplishments. Therefore, building faith fans require the collection of people who can agree to lift up holy hands to heaven, even when empirical evidence do not pro...
