Fool’s Flavour

“ Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, Seeing he hath no heart to it? He that begetteth a fool doeth it to his sorrow: And the father of a fool hath no joy. Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; But the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.” Proverbs 17 : 16 , 21 , 24 KJV When a fool says there is no God, he doesn’t actually mean the absence of the evidence of fact; it just implies the abandonment of favour for flavour. “ Seeing he hath no heart to it ” is simply the fool’s flavour for the embrace of all forms of ungodliness. Despite the numerous display of the deeds of kindness and righteousness, some people have the nerves, arrogance and flavour for the dividends of unrighteousness, wickedness and all forms of evil. “ But the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth” suggests the wishful thinking and attraction of wisdom in wickedness, rewards for ruinous disposition, and wealth in wastefulness. While favour applies the open revel...

Upright Understanding

“ Wisdom is in the sight of him who has understanding, But the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth .” Proverbs 17 : 24 NKJV When the scriptures say “ Wisdom is in the sight of him who has understanding “, it should be clear that worldly understanding is not in the pack. Worldly wisdom deals in upfront understanding at the expense of upright understanding. Those who trade with this understanding will fondly say “ the ends justify the means ”. Unfortunately, the scriptures call the merchants of worldly wisdom fools: “ But the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth” . Whereas, upright understanding delights in the laws of the Lord and lives according to His commandment, showing, testifying and waiting on the means to justify the ends. Obviously, it takes the understanding of the principle of uprightness, purity, righteousness, integrity, goodness, humility, and truth to enjoy the best of heaven’s rewards; and remain undistracted by earthly remuneration.

First Friend

“A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity. A man devoid of understanding shakes hands in a pledge, And becomes surety for his friend. ” Proverbs 17 : 17 - 18 NKJV Parties in all healthy relationships know both what it means to love at all times, and how to foolishly shake hands in a pledge. Friendship is all about an enduring burning, while bearing the burden of love and togetherness in marriage, family, fellowship, and business relationships. The only challenge is that there is no friend like Jesus, who is born for adversity. Apart from Jesus, everyone in any friendship relationship is hopeful of some returns of investment, even if it is a promissory note. Therefore, every believer is expected to always keep the understanding that Jesus is the first friend. And with this understanding and the enabling grace provided, believers can actually emulate the friendship lifestyle of Jesus in their business, societal, and family relationships. In fact, if every ...

Upward Understanding

“Wisdom is in the sight of him who has understanding, But the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth.” Proverbs‬ ‭17‬:‭24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ When the scriptures say ‘wisdom is in the sight of him who has understanding ’, it doesn’t say the fool has no understanding: ‘But the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth’ . It implies that the fool has a negative or downward understanding of the matter at hand. Unfortunately, everyone that is without a consistent inspiration by the Spirit of truth will fall for the downward understandings. And the enemies often play on their victim’s intelligence by exploring this option of manipulating their understanding, thereby controlling their actions and inaction. But, Praise God! Those who subscribe to the upward understanding from the Lord are delivered from their enemies’ manipulation: “ But there is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding ” (‭‭Job‬ ‭32‬:‭8‬). Irrespective of the make-beliefs of the downward unde...
