Spirit Sense
“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. ” John 6 : 63 KJV The response of Jesus here to the disciples’ frustration on the plight of their carnal cravings reveals the superiority of the spirit sense. “ It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing“ implies that while the spirit sense offers the lively loaves, carnal cravings produce lifeless loaves. And it is important to note that the best of carnal cravings profits nothing more than frustrations, fighting, and frivolity, besides the agitation for the supply of the basic things of life. Unfortunately, purposeless lives are usually satisfied with the provision of the best of what carnal cravings can offer. Little wonder why the enemy of our souls has nothing more on his principle of temptation to the flesh than the cravings for food, fame, and fortunes.
