Strong Standing
“Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain stand strong; You hid Your face, and I was troubled.” Psalms 30:7 NKJV When people generally say favour ain’t fair, they are generally misinterpreting favour from men as the favour from God. Although God uses men for distribution of favours, the supposed favours from men are not sustainable without divine supports. Unfortunately, many privileged people with favour have turned their backs on God in pursuit of prosperity, position, and privileges from men. Little wonder, this weak standing of favour crashes easily with a little breeze of change in the economic, political, and social landscape. For example, the psalmist learnt the strong standing favour from God through different experiences of life (i.e., either in the palace with foes or in the wilderness with friends, the Lord remained the source of his favour).
