Prize Pressing
“ Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. ” Philippians 3 : 13 - 14 KJV Apostle Paul’s reference to pressing towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus suggests that another prize pressing in life and ministry is aimed at the low calling of men. Yes, the highest of life’s ambitions in family, career, politics, business, and sometimes even in ministries, if outside the high calling of God in Christ Jesus, are simply the low calling of men. When our motivation in any ambition is aimed at self glory, it becomes low calling and subject to possible discouragement and disappointment, whenever we confront opposition.
