Little Light
“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12 KJV
Darkness is never made for or against the light, but light is made for the darkness. When Jesus says ‘I am the light of the world’, He is confirming to His disciples the power of the supposedly little light they carry against all intimidation by the darkness around them. More importantly, ‘I am the light of the world’ emphasizes the superiority of God’s light over the good, the ugly, and the bad. Oftentimes, believers are pressured to question the relevance of God’s promises in the midst of the challenges against their prospects and the calamity from problems. Then, He goes “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven”. When believers’ focus is on the efficacy of their little light, they cannot even begin to process the effrontery of the wicked vices around those life’s purposes and agendas. With God’s absolute presence and the revelation of His words of wisdom, words of knowledge, and the discernment of the spirit in the way, believers’ little light is more than enough for the deepest of the blackness of this world’s darknesses.
