Worthwhile Worship

But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”” John 4:23-24 NKJV

While every Sunday worship service offers worshippers with the privilege of starting a New Week with the understanding of God’s purpose for the week, most worshippers often do not see beyond the calibration of sermons, singing, and substances. It is this sense of calibration that lead many people who move from mountains to mountains in search of prophetic pronouncements without any evidence of heart transformation. When the woman of Samaria finally met Jesus, she became capable of seeing beyond the superiority of the well of Jacob and denominational segregation. And like she later exclaimed, worthwhile worship always leaves the true worshippers with a better understanding of God’s purposes in personal life, family life, and ministry life: “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ? (John 4:29)”. A worthwhile worship will take a worshipper from where he used to be to a new level of grace and a new realm of revelation; and not basking in the subtle romance with past glory and a wasteful complacency. Welcome to a New Week of worthwhile worship!
