Fallow Field

“For thus says the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem: “Break up your fallow ground, And do not sow among thorns.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭4:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/jer.4.3.nkjv
The law of sowing and reaping is natural and predictable, if the field is fertile and the labourers are responsible and reliable. And when the fields are the souls of men, then the law of sowing and reaping appears complicated and unpredictable...because the field’s degree of freedom advances with the age. However, a responsible and reliable soul-winner has his job and battle for soul well cut-out on a discouraging field. Therefore, the Spirit admonishes “Break up your fallow ground, And do not sow among thorns”. Understanding of the nature of the outreach for souls, whether among the familiar family members or the strange societal men, as fallow ground under the thorny and corrupting influences of the present social world, will boost strength and persistent courage for the labour. Unfortunately, many soul-winners often ignore the salient call to “break up” fallow field as their responsibility and reliability; and not necessarily depend on the state of responsiveness of the soul. In order not to sow among thorns, a soul-winner must accept responsibility to “break up” the fallow ground around the soul and stay reliable until the soul is won or become responsive. Therefore, the fertility (or futility) of fallow field is the sacred mission (or omission) of soul-winners, and not necessarily the salient mandate of the soul.
