Truth Traditions
“But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.” 2 Thessalonians 2:13-15 KJV
In these days of declaration of prophecies and dreams, several traditions abound with the intent of promoting diverse interests. Definitely, many prophecies are motivated by the search for public interest, popularity and fame. Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught suggests the heavenly preference for truth tradition, compared with the promotion of propaganda. Truth tradition is anchored on explicit study of the scriptures and devotional prayers. Starting from the knowledge of the saving grace and assurance of salvation, believers are enjoined to keep alive the tradition of (1) teaching the truth with transparency, (2) reflecting the righteousness of the Redeemer, (3) adhering to admonitions, (4) discerning deception and deviation, (5) inspiring incidences with integrity, (6) transferring the truth through transformation, (7) increasing interest in innocence, (8) obvious observations of orders, and (9) nurturing the new nature. Therefore, standing fast and holding to the tradition of truth implies the dedication of all Human Resources for the pursuit of the scriptural conviction, amidst rhetoric of righteousness.
