Training Times

“Before I was afflicted I went astray: But now have I kept thy word. Thou art good, and doest good; Teach me thy statutes. It is good for me that I have been afflicted; That I might learn thy statutes.” Psalm 119:67-68, 71 KJV

As described elsewhere, the wholesome word is given by the inspiration of God and profitable “for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16)”. Invariably, the wholesome word of GOD is meant for every believer’s teaching and training; but the training times are the affliction, oppression, and persecution times. According to Smith Wigglesworth, “Great faith is a product of great fights. Great testimonies are the outcome of great tests. Great triumphs can only come out of great trials”. And like the psalmist got admitted into the school of affliction immediately after his anointing and graduated with great wisdom and skills for palace administration, mastery in security strategy, and proficiency in social etiquette, those who honestly recognize their training times and humbly submit to their theses are people of great faith who greatly triumph with great testimonies. Whether they comes in form of misbelief at home, mismanagement at workplaces, and misrepresentation in the public space, training times offer the sacred opportunities for every believer to “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matthew 5:16)”.
