God Gift

 “And he brought forth his people with joy, And his chosen with gladness: And gave them the lands of the heathen: And they inherited the labour of the people; That they might observe his statutes, And keep his laws. Praise ye the LORD.” Psalm 105:43-45 KJV

When Apostle James says “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the father of lights”, many believers would have no problem with its reference to good gifts. Unfortunately, many believers are always distracted from the primacy of the God gift in every relationship of God with His children. For the Jews in the Old Testament, the focus is always about the miraculous possession of the promised land: “And he brought forth his people with joy, And his chosen with gladness: And gave them the lands of the heathen”. Likewise, in the New Testament and in our contemporary dealings, believers’ relationships with God are mostly skewed to the possession of good jobs, good properties, good opportunities, or simply good gifts. How about the possession of God? Whereas, the primary intention of God’s relationship with His people is the possession of Himself: “And they inherited the labour of the people; That they might observe his statutes, And keep his laws. Praise ye the LORD.” Without the transformation of the believer's heart to the possession of God, we will continually struggle with the centrality of living for the praise of God. Actually, the provision of grace and glory towards goodness is God’s prerogative; our primary responsibility is the possession of God as the gift, not the pursuit of goodness. Praise ye the LORD!

Righteous Resolution

  “ Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; And in his law doth he meditate day and night.
