Fruitful Field

 “Is it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest? And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness. The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.” Isaiah 29:17-19 KJV


When a field has stayed futile for so long, it is logical for the field to be treated with disdain and as a complete disappointment. Like Jerusalem would treat Lebanon with pride and arrogance, many people would walk away from purposeful calling, relationship, ministry, and projects on the basis of their carnal assessment of futility. Whereas, the metrics for assessing either fruitfulness or futility are not in the ways of men, but by clear revelation through the words of the Lord. Therefore, fruitfulness is measured by faith and faithfulness to the promises of the Lord; and not by our fondness with the principles and practices of this world. Fondness with the principles and practices of this world can brand a field as futile, while the field can actually be fruitful in the eyes of the Lord. For example, with absolute faith in God, faithful believers can claim the promises of the Lord to turn futile engagements and relationships into fruitfulness. Actually, as long as we abide in our calling into faithfulness, righteousness, understanding, integrity, truthfulness, forthrightness, unity, and love, it would not be long before the world sees the glory of God’s fruitful field in our vocation. Obviously, in the meanness of every believer’s messy calling, relationship, ministry, and projects of life, only the meek can see the fruitful field and remain joyful in the Lord.

Righteous Resolution

  “ Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; And in his law doth he meditate day and night.
