Fearful Followers

And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: for I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.” Luke 19:20-21 KJV

“Occupy till I come” in the kingdom business on earth remains a standing commandment of the Lord to all His disciples, while He goes to prepare the heavenly kingdom. As faithful followers obey the commandment by engaging their talents, treasures, and time for kingdom business, fearful followers waste these resources and opportunities on excuses, not actually because they fear the Lord. They are apparently intimidated by the actions and inaction of bullies and unbelievers, who have vowed that the kingdom business is not fashionable, inappropriate, and unacceptable to their earthly lifestyle and norms. Therefore, fearful followers are compromisers and believers without backbones, who are more interested in ungodly practices and a vote of political correctness. Whereas, men and women that would follow the commandments of the Lord faithfully must be able to consistently ignore these bullies and unbelievers through secret prayer, searching purity, supernatural power, strong persuasion, scriptural preaching, saviour’s purpose, and spiritual perception. Obviously, only those who  “Occupy till I come” will be rewarded with the heavenly kingdom when the Lord shall return for the reckoning of believers’ earthly engagements.
