Miserable Motions
”God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn. Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah“ Psalms 46:5, 10-11 NKJV
There is no doubt about the fact that motions without movement are miserable, but that is the most accurate representation of life’s activities outside the presence of God. Life’s choices on family planning, career choices, business decisions, and residency at the impulse of weather, security, social, political and economic threats are just few of the many miserable motions. But whenever believers truly understand the scriptural revelation and assurance that ”God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved“, they cease to engage in miserable motions. Conversely, the birthrights of the enemies of God’s people is simply the engagement in miserable motions to generate these threats. Unfortunately, some believers are experts in analyzing the enemies’ threat-induced miserable motions; while forgetting the scriptural injunction “Be still, and know that I am God”. When the scripture says “Be still, and know that I am God”, it implies an instructive ‘cease from miserable motions’ and know more about this - ‘greater than the greatest’; ‘wiser than the wisest’; ‘mightier the mightiest’; and ‘higher than the highest’ - God. Therefore, a believer's knowledge of the abiding presence of God, while consistently unlearning the expertise in miserable motions, is the perfect demonstration of His promised peace.
