Timeless Treasure
“For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.” 1 Thessalonians 2:13 KJV
It is natural for people to be skeptical about words of revelation from men, including politicians, prophets, and preachers. And since there are diverse motivations to the different declarations from men, people often treat marital vows, service oaths, and organizational creeds or bounds as time-based treasures. Unfortunately, declarations of believers that are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, especially in the presence of the Lord, are mostly treated with the same quality of trust as the words of unbelievers. Therefore, “For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God“ is always a call for celebration. Whenever believers are openly submissive to the words of the Lord, either during his personal devotion or congregational attendance in the potter’s house, they will receive the timeless treasure that stands the test of trials and tribulations. The words of the Lord are the only source of timeless truth, righteousness, examination, assurance, salvation, understanding, reconciliation, and exploits.
