Timeless Treasure

 “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 KJV

In a culture built and sustained by empirical evidence, it is absolutely impossible for anyone to buy the invisible treasures of hope, faith and confidence in God, especially in the face of boundless alternatives and temporal treasures. For example, vision lacks sustainable passion, marriages lack sincere companionship, and business or career projects lack strong purpose when the only metrics for investment are restricted to SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevance, and time-bound). While the SMART metrics are useful and visible measures, working by faith often invites believers to endure light affliction or persecution to test their faith in God’s promises; and not their trust in temporal treasures. Since whatever God has promised His beloved are timeless and settled in heaven, every believer’s timeless treasures are usually fashioned by God to come into full manifestation after his necessary transition through the crucible of affliction and the challenges of life. Therefore, we all need the grace of God to sustain the gaze on our timeless treasures in God’s incorruptible accounts; rather than getting distracted by temporal treasures in this world’s corruptible accounts.

Righteous Resolution

  “ Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; And in his law doth he meditate day and night. Omni- Obedience

  “ For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled .” II Corinthians 10 : 4 - 6 NKJV There is no better reference to the scriptural punishment of all disobedience when our obedience is fulfilled than omni- obedience.
